X-rays
You can expect a New Patient Packet in the mail which you need to bring with you to your first appointment. Be sure to fill in any insurance information. We also ask that you bring any current panoramic x-rays that you might have from your previous dentist. And, don’t forget to bring your Insurance Card.

Tooth Extractions
We extract fewer teeth than most orthodontists. We will do everything possible to avoid permanent tooth extraction. We practice strictly non-extraction philosophy and less than 5% of our patients require extractions.

Orthodontics
Dr. Wes Allai graduated from College High in Pittsburg, Kansas and Frontenac High in Frontenac, Kansas. In 1975, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Chemistry. He attended Indiana University/Purdue University at Indianapolis in 1982 and holds a Master of Science Degree in Orthodontics.
Invisalign Orthodontics
Teenagers comprise the majority of patients in most orthodontic practices. We pride ourselves on our ability to get our adolescent patients excited and motivated about their orthodontic treatment. We have a young and energetic staff (and doctor!) and we find that we can take our job very seriously without always having to be so serious with our patients! We understand that the teenagers have concerns with how they look and feel about their treatment. We offer different aesthetic options for teenagers such as traditional silver braces that can be decorated with colored rubber bands, clear brackets and in some instances, Invisalign teen treatment.
Braces
The adhesive used for attaching the braces to your teeth cures rapidly initially, but takes 24-hours to completely cure. You can eat anytime after leaving our office. However, we ask that you be mindful of the suggested list of foods that may be harmful to the braces. Until you become accustomed to eating with your new braces, you may find it beneficial to follow a diet consisting of soft foods.

General Dentistry
MELANIE has over 27 years of medical/dental experience. She joined Dr. Allai’s staff in 2004. In 2007 she was recalled to active duty in support of Operation Enduring freedom. After three consecutive deployments she was able to retire from the United States Navy and rejoin Dr. Allai. Melanie has a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is a certified orthodontic assistant, certified general dentistry assistant, certified in expanded functions, dental radiology and basic skills for the state of Missouri. She says ”There is no other place I would ever want to work. Dr. Allai is one of the most patient and kind men I know. I love assisting Dr. Allai and making awesome smiles.”
