Overall

Buyer beware !! Under new BAD management!!

I have been shopping on and off for my dog's food at Cape Dog and Cat Bakery for a little over a year. It was a pleasure to shop there when Anita was the owner. April, who practically runs the store always gave excellent customer service with her vast expertise in the products they sell. However, this experience was short-lived when my dog developed diarrhea and yeast infection due to bad vet advice on nutrition and I had to rely on April's knowledge to find my pet a better quality dog food. This was a slow hit or miss process and April was helpful, however, the new owner, Maria, who has recently bought the store did not feel that helping a customer is part of their business. So following a call to April about the dog food I had just bought at their store, prompted an irate call from the new owner Maria.

This woman (Maria) was rude, condescending, and ornery. Maria went on a rant accusing me of taking hours away from April from helping other customers. She stated they are not a consulting firm, that the help I had received was a courtesy, that I needed to take my dog to a vet, and to deliver her final blow she demanded that I not shop at her store anymore. Somewhere during her rant she agreed to take back the large bag of dog food I had just bought at her store. To add insult to injury, she acted as if I she was the offended party and hanged up on me leaving me shocked and in mid sentence.

Well, if this woman would have allowed me to speak, she would have found out that I had taken my dog to three vets and spent over $800 dollars in vet bills, and that's not adding all the money I've spent on the very expensive foods I had bought from her store. To call a customer at home and accuse and offend a customer shows a lack of common sense, lack of respect, and seriously lacking in customer service skills.

Maria is obviously not aware as a new owner she is first in the business of customer service, then in the products she's selling. Florida businesses are customer service oriented and are committed to offering customer service first. It is not a mere courtesy as she stated; it is what will make or break your business!

To end the story, when I arrived at her store to return the bag of dog food as she had agreed, Maria had changed her mind and refused to take the dog food back and refund me my money or give me store credit. So much for having integrity.

Buyer beware! You are better off shopping at other pet supply stores who offer the same products with better customer service and are dedicated to customer satisfaction. Try Pet Supermarket, Discount Pets & Supplies, Petco, Dog Days Delight, and many others.
