Crepetown

I stumbled on this place by chance, looking for the much advertised and terribly hidden Tourist Info point for Eldorado County. Got a business card to make sure I can get back for more of their wonderful cake.

Do stop, do stop, do stop and get cake there! I am sending all my friends over.

Not knowing, and since the name had the word Crepe in it, I ordered a Nutella crepe first. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious and I ate it ALL. But, just for good measure and because it looked so yummy, I ordered a non-name cake, part of a Buche De Noel looking thing.

White, it had walnuts and rum in it and it was a piece of HEAVEN in my mouth!! Just thinking of it makes my taste buds tingle.



Best cake I had in California and I moved here 2 years ago. Born and raised in Europe, I had some good cake in my life and this is at par with the best of it.



Completely secondary - consider it a bonus - the cafe is very nice and cozy and the waitress was a hoot - loved her!



Not only will I ALWAYS stop on my way to Tahoe but I will drive just for that cake from San Francisco and back. Worth the trouble.
