Indian Creek Campground

We travelled from coast to coast, stayed in multiple campgrounds and the experience with this one was simply shocking – we couldn’t even get in. It’s located in the boonies and it’s very hard to find it when you take an exit from I-40. We drove forever turning multiple times and finally found it. The regular two-lane road became a narrow one-lane road. We drove for two miles on it to find out that the campground’s gate was closed at 9:10 p.m. What campground closes gates so early? Anyway, if you have to do it for some reason, at least put a sign on the main road so people with RVs won’t turn in the narrow road and find themselves trapped. We had 25-feet RV behind the truck and there was no place to turn around! We had to drive backwards for two miles! I wonder how many people found themselves in the same situation and how they got out of it. I am very not recommending Indian Creek campground, stay out of it!

Shouldn't get any stars! Been going to this park for over 25years. Drove 2hours and were told dogs were not allowed. Rude lady runs this place. We used to bring our boxer with us even if it was to just have a swim and a picnic. We will NEVER waste our time again. You shouldn't either!

We choose Indian Creek for a month while waiting on our house to be finished. Terrible mistake! I requested an rv site on the water but rarely got to enjoy it. On our weekends off we looked forward to fishing, only to find people (different people every weekend) fishing on our lot. Every weekend we would have to listen to screaming kids and parents getting drunk as the day progressed. For a place to have SO many rules (including not feeding the geese but throwing lit firecrackers instead) respecting other campers space. Then came karaoke time where the drunk parents would sing (scream) well past midnight and then pass around a jar of shine until sunrise. Keep in mind that this was different families, but still happened every.single.weekend.

Jean is very nosey and extremely loud. On June 16th we were leaving to run to town around lunch time and she informed us that her electricity bill was higher than normal & if we didn't start turning our air conditioning off when we left then we would be responsible for the bill. It was 90 degrees outside and we had a dog in the camper!!!

Some of the other permanent campers drive diesel trucks and you WILL hear them driving by at least 15 times a day.

Someone that lives on the other side of the lake enjoys working on engines and revving them up, echoing throughout the campsite.

Yeah, it's pretty down there. But we got sick of the noise and feeling like we were in detention. So we left early and came to Twin Lakes Catfish in Baxter. Best decision we have ever made!

First off this is a beautiful campground! NO doubt about it, there isn't a bad campsite, all are easy access to the lake. However, upon our arrival we were warned NOT to break any rules which we understood. BUT our daughter was coming in late from Murfreesboro, it was dark and she did get lost within the campground. Her dad and I saw her circling around because the campsite numbers cannot not be seen at night. So we jumped in the truck to go find her. She did, by mistake go down a lane the wrong way, so we got up behind her and flashed our headlights. Finally she stopped but we were too far into the lane to turn around (our campsite was just ahead). So we instructed her to slowly drive ahead to the campsite. Right when we got there, The campground owner, Jean, jumped infront of her car waving her flashlight!! She then ran around to our daughters driverside door and proceeded to scream at her and flail her arms. Needless to say this scared the hell out of our daughter, she thought she hit someone! Jean instructed her to turn around and go the right way, But our daughter tried to explain to her the situation and that she was right infront of the campsite. After Jean tore her a new hole she then moved onto our driver's side and ripped a hole into my husband. It seemed so blown out of proportion. We understand rules and try to abide by them, but what happened to treating people with dignity? We were there with other family to celebrate our last weekend with our son before he left for the Navy. Karoake was fun but the music was cranked up so loud and it went on to past midnight, making it difficult to sleep. We are Quiet people with a love for nature, family, and order, BUT REALLY? The only ones in this campground that was treated with any kind of respect was the cronies of the campground owner: people they knew and stay there often, they seemed to get a pass. We made it a joke the rest of the weekend by pointing out ALL the rules they were breaking including Jean herself! This by far, will be forever branded on us to NEVER go to this campground again or recommend it to others.
