SHOP AROUND! I was charged $75 for a diabetes testing meter that is idential to some on the drugstore shelves for $20. This is who my doctor set me up with and I was given the machine without even having the chance to check the competition. When asked why I was paying that price, in a nutshell was told because that is what health insurances and medicad/medicare will pay and where most of their revenue comes from.
