Chiropractic Adjustments
While massage therapy focuses on the soft tissues, chiropractic care centers on the nervous and musculoskeletal systems related to the spine, ligaments, and joints. Joints can be misaligned from trauma or stress which makes muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints become sore and tight. Warming, loosening, and relaxing the soft tissues before a chiropractic adjustment helps the joint adjust more easily. Dr. Dawn can help our massage therapists identify and treat specific musculoskeletal issues. Receiving chiropractic care either before or after a therapeutic massage increases the effectiveness of treatments, improving range of motion, promoting faster healing, provide pain relief, and improving overall function.

Disc Herniation Treatment
Decompression Therapy is used in our office to help patients with complications secondary to disc bulges and herniations. In fact, a study done on patients receiving decompression therapy along with chiropractic care noted a significant decrease in the size of their disc herniation in 3 months (proved on an MRI). Treatment on average lasted about 15 visits and was also combined with strength conditioning and postural retraining. Dr. Dawn has used decompression to help maintain a disc bulge she suffered from a sports injury. Decompression Therapy is also cleared by the FDA as a safe and effective treatment for cervical and lumbar disc bulges and herniations. Not sure if decompression is for you?
