Overall
Delicious - better than Chan's

I took my whole family here on Saturday night at ~8:00 and it was empty which was a little scary but we sat down anyway.

We ordered chicken chow mein and the noodles were thicker than what you get with most chow mein. Very delicious with good quality chicken meat. We also had Mongolian Beef and General Tso's Chicken. All the dishes were really good. Not as greasy/oily as some chinese places. No hint of MSG.

They don't serve beer which was the only drawback. The service was fast and friendly and the prices were very reasonable. I will definitely come back regularly.

Overall
Tasteless, Burnt Food, Lengthy Service, Bad Management

****Warning this is a very long review... to some it up, burnt food, slow service, and manager refused to talk to me, after I complained to the waitress and asked to speak to the manager.****

It took the waitress awhile to come and get our order, but our pot stickers came quickly, unfortunately our drinks did not come until after we were almost finished with those and the rest of our appetizers did not come for quite some time after that.

Then as we awaited our entrees we saw everyone who came in after us get served. Granted we were on a slight time restraint since my dad works nights he had to leave by 8pm, but we thought we had given ourselves plenty of time by arriving there at 6:45pm. I don't know about you, but unless you have to kill the food before you cook it, I don't think it should ever take over an hour to be served, especially at a small Chinese place that only had 4 other tables filled when we were in there.

At 7:55 when they finally started bringing out our entrees one at a time we asked the waitress for a box for my dad so he could start dishing up his food. The waitress showed the correct amount of empathy and actually took two minutes to talk to him, but it was still 8:10 by the time we received all of our food.

Luckily we weren't starving waiting for our food, like you normally are when waiting in a restaurant, because there were not any good smells coming from the kitchen. All you could smell was the billows of smoke that erupted quite regularly from that direction.

Needless to say by this point none of us were thrilled, but not wanting to take it out on the waitress for what she couldn't necessarily control, I decided to wait until the end of the meal and discuss it with the manager.

Then I took a bite of my Moo-Shu which I had been waiting for all night... it was burnt. And not just a little burnt, the kind of burnt that stays in your mouth.

Overall the rest of the food wasn't horrible, my mom said the Sweet and Sour hardly had a single vegetable in it and she couldn't find any pineapple. but everything else was edible.

When we went to put things in boxes the waitress questioned us about not wanting to take home the Moo-Shu my mom explained, but when we got our bill it was still listed.

Not wanting to cause a scene I took the bill to the register to speak to the waitress. She told me that she didn't take it off, because only the manager could do that and since she hadn't charged us for the white rice she thought that it would be alright. I explained that it wasn't alright and to ask the manager. The girl kept on, so I asked her to get the manager for me (which I had to say twice).

Needless to say the girl came out without the manager to inform me that the manager would only take off half of the price of the Moo-Shu! I was pissed. I asked her if the manager was going to come out to talk to me and she said that she would not. As I was paying the bill I asked her if the manager spoke English, thinking that maybe the manager had a communication issue, that would make her uncomfortable talking to me, but the girl informed me that the manager did in fact speak English.

I know that this is a very lengthy review, but I was very very upset, the stuff in the beginning I could forget, but not taking forever on service, having burnt food and then the manager refusing to speak to an upset costumer.

I grew up in Marin County near San Fran. and Oakland and I know I have high standards, especially when it comes to Chinese food, but this was unacceptable. I hope that the company reads this, maybe the will be able to learn from it, but I can tell you I will never go there again, and I will tell everyone I know to stay far far away from that place! Its funny though if the manager had just taken a minute or two to talk to me we probably could have been persuaded to come back and try again, but oh well live and learn.
