This Attorney is good! He was able to get me through my case with awesome advice and was reasonably priced!

My experience with John was a nightmare. Not only did his horrible advice cause major problems in my process but he didn't even show up to court. He did NOTHING to benefit my case what so ever! He seemed to drag on my divorce way longer than it should have for his own financial benefit. I would advise anyone to stay clear of him. He swore at me and treated me like I was stupid. I will be spending tens of thousands of dollars to clean up the damage caused by hiring this scum bag.

Mr. Alegria was always available to me and made a difficult time in my life much easier. He and his staff were always accessible and helped eased my worries. Highly recommend!

Three weeks ago I gave John Alegria $1400 to assist me in a Adoption case (an easy step-father adoption). Ever since it's been all I could do to get him on the line and discuss options with me. He continuously pushed for actions (which would cause me additional bills) that I didn't wish to pursue (custody and contempt charges against my ex). When I asked for an itemized list of what was taken from my retainer so far he asked 'why', I explained that I wanted to see it, to please send it to me. His next email was him claiming that my entire $1400.00 had been used up in three weeks of a few short phone calls and that he would no longer represent me. He also told me that if I continued to email him, he would charge me accordingly for the correspondence between us. I intend to pursue legal actions against this man. Don't make the same mistake I did.

this attorney is awful. I gave him $1500 upfront and was promised the case would be handled quickly and that my case was very very good ! A lot of promises up front but no action at all for my the $$. He and Matt were always busy with something else and the case was not completed for 15 months and not one promise he made me came to fruition. He is a cheat and often recalls nothing about your case details. He is mean spirited as well and rude beyond comprehension and treats you as a stupid person while he himself is inadequate to do the task. Stay away from this attorney and do not waste your time or money and certainly do not place your family problems or child custody hopes with him. a lot of wasted money indeed!. I certainly agree that one star is not low enough to evaluate this attorney.

If I could give him less than one star I would he does not derserve even ONE!! My experience, he was hired for a child custody case 90 % of everything was done prose. He was simply hired to do the last little bit of paperwork and represent us in court. I gave him $2500 upfront what does he do postpone the court date not anything he discussed with us or that we would have agreed to !! Then he calls us a month and a half before the rescheduled court date says we used up all our deposit and that if we didnt pay him another $3000 right away he was withdrawing. On one occassion we scheduled an appt with him at his home OFFICE we arrived on time he was upstairs but left us waiting 40 minutes!! Then he comes down we try to talk about our case he gets a call spends about 10-15 minutes talking to another client while we wait again... Later we ask him to please reconsider his withdrawl that we could come up with the additional $3000 but wouldnt arrive until 3 days after the court date would he take a post dated check? Which in the beginning the intial $2500 was via post dated check and it wasnt problem for him then but now no he couldnt possibily. He withdrew from our case after doing virtually NOTHING other then take our $2500. Now about that appt he was 40 minutes late to, we were charged the whole time we sat and waited for him because Matt his asst sat with us so we were billed for Matt the 40 minutes John was late, we were billed the entire time John was downstairs including the time he spoke with his other client via phone in front of us. Also watch your calls to him he takes an unbelievable amount time to give you the most basic info but keep in mind he is CHARGING you BIG for that call!! DO NOT under any circumstances hire this "attorney"--legal con-artist!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY!! His billing in itself is utterly rediculous!! He will take your $$$ but dont expect him to do anything for it!! He is all talk! Also no matter how thorough you are giving them info.. they do the paperwork WRONG...why? because they charge you LOTS $$ to correct their own mistakes!! The very worst part of this is the stress he has put my daughter through trying to do right by my granddaughter. My daughter doesnt have a lot of money she is a full time college student and full time awesome MOM. She is trying to protect my granddaughter from her drug addicted father. How he could do what he did to an innocent child is beyond ME!!

Mr. Alegria represented me for a DUI charge, and I hope he doesn't for you.



At first he seemed very friendly and knowledgeable, and during this time of stress and uncertainty I was very willing to enlist his services in my legal representation. However once the trial date loomed he seemed to be unclear and unmotivated despite any of our previous meetings, and that was IF I could get him to answer the phone or call me back at all. So come trial day, I'm left sitting there by myself with 10 minutes before my hearing and I have to call him on the phone so he can tell me that he is "Almost there, quit stressing".

Long story short, despite the large amount of after tax dollars I paid him, he decides to leave me there alone and meets with the judge to make a settlement without my consent (which if you can't tell I m not happy about), and then pops out to say bye, and leaves. For lesser charges I received worse penalties than the average person who represented by a public defender.



Save your time, money, and frustration and skip this guy.



I'm writing this review because recently a friend of mine has been stressing about how poorly his attorney has been treating him, leading him on and milking him for money he doesn't feel is justified (this is for a completely different charge), and I came to find out it was the same man who swindled me. I am writing this so that YOU don't have to go through this, I wish someone had told me.
