Essex County Vocational Technical Schools is a regional public school system that provides occupational and academic instruction for high school and adult students in Essex County, N.J. It has several high schools and serves more than 2,000 students. The district offers services to a range of students, including special education students, students with limited English proficiency, and gifted and talented students. Essex County Vocational Technical Schools provides programs in accounting, allied healthcare, architectural design and drafting, automotive technology, business studies, carpentry, computer networking, cosmetology and horticulture. It supervises an apprenticeship program with over 750 apprentices throughout the county. As part of its school-to-work program, the district has partnerships with nearly 100 businesses in the county. Essex County Vocational Technical Schools maintains one of its locations in Bloomfield, N.J.
