The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries provides a range of medical and wage replacement coverage services for workers who suffer job-related injuries and illnesses. It maintains a staff of more than 2,500 skilled employees, including safety inspectors, claims specialists, nurses, researchers, accountants and labor experts. The department serves customers in over 20 offices throughout Washington. The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries features an occupational safety and health division. In addition, its inspectors visit nearly 7,000 workplaces annually. The department provides on-site safety and consulting services.
