Little People Child Development Center

A baby died here!!!! How is this place still open? What careless parents would take there child here after such a horrifying and heartbreaking loss? What kind of person would keep this place open? Im so sad and disgusted. Check the news for yourself the negligence of someone to hire a person who could do that i dont care what this place has to defend itself if i was the owner i would close down and figure out a new way to make money because clearly daycare is not the way. I couldnt even imagine what yhe parwnts are going through storys like this are why my son may never go to daycare.

Delaware State Police are investigating the death of an infant at Little People Child Development Center in Bear on Thursday.

Police said the 4-month-old girl's death occurred sometime between 10 and 10:30 a.m at the facility at 3843 Wrangle Hill Road.

According to court documents obtained by The News Journal, 19-year-old Dejoynay Mariah Ferguson was charged with first-degree murder for the baby's death. Documents say Ferguson killed the girl because she was being "fussy" and would not stop crying.

My kids have been going to this center for almost 4 years. It’s very clean all the time, my kids teachers are amazing and the staff loves the families that come there. The owner is very hands on and she actually sees the children as little people. She goes all out for them all the time. People say she’s money hungry but there’s been times as a single mom that i didn’t have it and she would work with me each time. I dont Think that’s traits of someone that’s money hungry. She buys the students lunches often from expensive restaurants out of her own pocket. I wouldnt Send my children any where else. I’m sure the people that are giving negative reviews are those who wanted something and it didn’t go their way. This is the best school for children. You people talking about the owner well she runs a tight ship and she’s very in tune with her staff thought the day. Hence the reason this school always passes the board for the state. U pay for the care you want.

Should have done my research before sending my kids here absolutely unprofessional an unorganized the principal Janice is rude and so is her assistant Marshaey. They denied giving me signed documents and copies. Mrs Marshae is constantly on the phone so when you are even trying to talk to her she never puts the phone down gen if it's confidential.

My daughter has been going to the Christiana site since 10/2017 at the age of 2. Let me just tell you how I was scared for this change due to me feeling more at ease with her being in a home daycare since she was 4 months. Due to her home daycare closing I was forced to look for additional care. I searched every where..and I mean every where. Let me give you a tip..pop up at a daycare around 11 am for an application and you will see the real deal! Not this center though. First what you do is look on the state of Delaware website to see if there has been any teacher/kid safety concerns for the past 5-7 years, and that was a no for all three of her centers! Yes meeting the owner Ms. Janice I did feel at first like dang she plays no games when it comes to her business and kids, but guess what..dealing with my ONLY child neither do I, so she won me over! Here it is January 2018 and I still love it!! My child is now three, picked to be tested by the state because she is learning so much, and we love all the teachers. When I read the post below it saddens me. Just because things did not go well for your situation, don't block other kids possible blessings. Parents that are sour make it bad for our children still attending to be able to do certain things. If you feel like the owner is money hungry, take your child to the next daycare that's cheap and you will find out you get what you pay for. She has bills to pay just like anyone else. If your child can not participate in things then have them sit out. Its simple as that. Lord knows I don't have it all the time, but i don't cry about it. If my child have to sit out one day then so be it. I didn't know anything about Ms. Janice when attending but guess what....what my child is planted P.S if she treats her workers so bad...why are they all still there? Just something to thing about. Sounds like a bunch of sour pusses.

The Little People CDC is the best child care center when it comes to childcare. The level of quality you will see is very rare that you would find at any other center. All 3 sites are are star 5 on a daily basis and highly recommended by several companies. When you place your child in a center you will not find a more nurturing, safe, and learning environment for your child. Trust me when I said I placed my child in a home center and it was okay. I took my child out of a home center and places her in another center where she had so many unexplained incidents and teachers not paying attention to the children. At the Little People you get called for every head injury even if it's a chapped lip that started to bleed. The teachers and the administrators are all qualified to teach and have been employed for a very long time. When there is any issue's or concerns the management team takes it into consideration. This center is defitnely a Star 5 everyday and if you log onto OCCl and look at the complaints and compaliances compared to other centers you will see a difference. When making a decision do your on research and stop in for a tour and see why all 3 locations are at a Star 5.

Please do your research before looking at this daycare. Every single negative review is about how awful the owner, Janice Palmer, treats others. I have personally seen her berate her staff in front of me and the children in the middle of the classroom. Go somewhere else.

My son has been in this school since he was 1. He is now turning 3; I can say that I would not recommend any other school. The staff is very knowledgeable, caring, and friendly. The owner, Janice has a beautiful heart and demonstrates daily how much she cares about all of the children and staff. She even worked with me to make sure my son had all the resources he needed to be at his level of development. I have never came across a center that was so clean, understanding, and had a low turnover rate with staff. I recommend this daycare to everyone!
