Maria was very sweet, and did a really nice job on the alterations to a bridesmaid dress I brought in. I needed it hemmed and taken in at the bust. I have never gotten anything altered before, so I had no real grasp of what type of price point I should expect. When she gave me the quote, I assumed it was what I could expect anywhere else. The price to have it altered was literally the cost of the gown. After consulting with the other girls in the bridal party who had similar alterations on their dresses, the price I paid was $50 more or higher than that of what they paid at various other locations closer to their home towns. As I said, she was extremely kind and did a lovely job! I found it a bit pricey, but she was very nice to work with.
Maria does great work. I've had four suits and a pair of pants tailored by her. She makes sure that things fit the way you want them to and that you're completely satisfied. Her prices are so affordable that I don't even ask her what the estimate will be for the work anymore. This is because I know that the price will be inexpensive compared to the high quality of work I'm getting. Maria is super nice, does high quality work, charges next to nothing to do it, and it's always ready on time. And..you're supporting a local business. What more could you want?

I've been going to Maria's Tailoring for years. She's always done a great job for both my husband and I. She has done great fittings with various types of clothing for me and she gives personable service. Maria is a kind and caring person. I highly recommend her and her work.

I had gone here to get my bridesmaids dress tailored. It appears that the dresses that she tailored were late. As well as getting the sashes hemmed for the bride. My cousin drove a half hour each way to not have anything ready as promised. She then said that they could get them ready in an hour. Here is where it gets worse. I flew in from California to be the maid of honor in my cousins wedding. I tried the dress on before the ceremony and it DID NOT FIT AT ALL!!! The back would not even zip up half way. Someone had to spend 20 minutes trying to make it work so I could walk down the aisle for my cousin! My dress needed to be made into a V in the back since it was taken in way too much. Then the chest area had to be taken in quite a bit and was not. All during the ceremony and reception I kept pulling up my dress and sticking out my stomach so my dress would not fall down around my bust! She apparently used someone else’s measurements on the $200 that I bought. My cousin and aunt called Maria and she did not take any responsibility for it. She told them that she did nothing wrong and that I gained weight. OK… I would have had to gain like 30 lbs and 2 cup sizes in a month, when I actually lost 6. I get that things happen and mistakes are made, the fact that she argued with my family and said it was not her fault. I left her a message to have her call me and I would like her to refund me the full amount and fix it, I have yet to get a reply from her. This is a dress that I will never be able to wear again due to her mistake and very poor customer service and taking no responsibilities for her actions. She has already lost customers due to this since 200 people had seen what happened to my dress.

I can never let kindness go unnoticed, so I feel obliged to tell everyone how Marias Tailoring & Alteration (54 North Main Street in Beacon Falls) saved my wedding day.
It was Friday, June 9th, just one day before my wedding, when my mother offered to pick-up my wedding gown from the bridal salon where it was purchased. I had been to two previous fittings at this bridal salon, so I was confident that the dress would look perfect. Around 9:30 that evening, I tried on the dress of my dreams for what I thought would be the very last time before the wedding.
After my mother helped zip and button-up the back of the dress, I came to a startling realizationmy perfect dress looked like a potato sack. The sides of the dress, which were supposed to hug my torso, bulged, and the weight of the dress kept pulling my strapless dress down to which it looked like I had no chest at all. Im not getting married in this dress,"" I said in despair. I spent all this money for the wedding and the photographer; now it would be a waste.
At 10:30 Friday night, I left a desperate message on Marias answering machine. There was only one full day before the wedding, and if Maria couldnt drop all the work and appointments from her customers that day, my wedding would be ruined.
Bright and early at seven in the morning, Maria called the next day to let me know that shed be willing to help me. It was a miracle! As she pinned my dress at 7:15 a.m., I saw that approximately two inches needed to be taken-in on the sides. Even the hook and eye in the back needed to be replaced and repositioned. She was careful, attentive, and quick. By twelve noon, the dress was ready for pick-up, costing only a mere fraction of what most bridal places charge for alterations. Maria went the extra mile for me that daymy gown never looked more beautiful. For this, I will always be grateful.
