Breast surgical oncologist Melissa Fana, MD, FACS is Chief of Breast Surgery at South Shore University Hospital and Director of Breast Services at Mather Hospital. She completed her residency at North Shore University Hospital and her fellowship in breast surgical oncology at Beaumont Health in Michigan.Her focus includes young patients diagnosed with breast cancer, women at genetic risk for breast cancer and patients positive for HER2, a specific type of breast cancer-but she treats all biology of breast cancer. She is also oncoplastic-trained and focuses on nipple-sparing mastectomy.
