Wellstar Tranquility at Cobb Hospital

On Wed 1/8/14 my partner Steven King signed the papers with Wellstar Hospice Care at the Paulding Hospital Nursing Home for his mother Nelle King. The girl we met with was very kind and we asked for her to put us in touch with social worker to help us in making prearrangements for Cremation. On Thursday 1/9 we were told the social worker was unavailable and the Chaplain would help us. The chaplain was very nice and prayed for Ms King but said they could not help us and we should contact a local funeral home on our own. We were surprised since we had been under impression hospice would help with this. Early friday morning we were called back to Nursing home at 1AM as Ms King had passed. We were told Hospice had been notified but to this day almost a week later no one from Hospice has even contacted us. Thank God that one of the staff member was able to put us in touch with a cremation service to pick up the body and make arrangements. As I said the people we had contact with were very nice but as for help we received none. I would have at least expected a phone call acknowledging her passing and expressing sympathy. I am and will continue to be a Wellstar consumer and have always been very happy with services but I feel my partner was left alone to flounder at a time when support should have been there for him. I really think you should look into this matter so no one else has to suffer alone as he did.
