Family Law

Divorce
Prior to her service with the Public Defender's Office, Ms Parga worked for Prairie State Legal Services. At Prairie State, Ms. Parga became familiar with civil litigation including all phases of divorce and family law. Ms. Parga also represented persons in claims for social security benefits and landlord/tenant disputes.

Criminal Law

Criminal Defense
The firm's trial members have lectured on criminal law at seminars and programs for various bar associations, community groups, and agencies. Members have published articles and comments in several legal publications. The firm maintains an extensive electronic library and maintains close contact with experts in medicine, forensics and the sciences.
DUI/DWI
Mr. Camic was the Chairman of the Criminal Justice Section of the Illinois State Bar Association and was Treasurer of the Illinois Attorneys for Criminal Justice. Mr. Camic chaired the Kane County Bar Association Criminal Practice committee from 1991 through 2003, and is still a member of that committee. He presently serves on the Association's Board of Directors. Mr. Camic has been accepted as a member of the National College of DUI defense.
Sex Crimes
Mr. Johnson's clients have included elected officials, police officers, lawyers, judges and school officials. Other clients have included persons charged with capital and complex financial offenses, as well as DUIs, sex offenses and various other felonies.
Misdemeanors
Mr. Camic represents clients in criminal trials, including felonies and misdemeanors in Illinois and New York state and federal courts. Mr. Camic's practice includes extensive experience in both bench and jury trials. In fact, he holds the record for one of the shortest jury acquittals in Illinois in seven minutes. In addition, Mr. Camic has represented many clients in both state and federal appeals. Mr. Camic has been a frequent speaker at seminars for professional associations including the Kane County Bar Association, the Peoples Law School, and local schools and organizations.
Murder
Sandra T. Parga came to the law firm from the Kane County Public Defender's Office. While at the Public Defender's Office, Ms. Parga represented persons charged in both criminal and civil proceedings. Ms. Parga spent a substantial amount of time dealing with both pre-trial felonies and domestic violence cases. In addition, Ms. Parga is very familiar with the juvenile court system in both delinquency and dependency cases. Ms Parga was also part of the defense team in serious felony and murder cases.

Every criminal lawyer in our firm has represented defendants charged with murder. In addition, our lawyers have represented persons charged with narcotic cases, gang cases, reckless homicide and thousands of driving while under the influence cases.
