Really all I can saw is they are amazing! On Christams I had to take my dog Sheba to an ER vet in Decatur called Village Vets. She had sever damage done to her leg. Well 3 days later we found out that we had been lied to. They said they did the first debridement on the 26th and when we picked up a list of all that they had done it showed that it was done a while we were there to pick her up. Not once we get a phone call the whole time she was at VVD... So of course we trasfered her to GVS and theyconstantly called up to inform us on how Sheba was doing. All of the staff members we kind hearted and showed great love for our pet and all the other pets in their care. I know from know on my pets are not going anywhere else but here. I wish I could say there are other vets like GVS but I haven't found one yet. They treat the animals as if they are little people and give them the same attention as we would recive if one of us had to go to the hospital. I have nothing bad to say about anybody at GVS or anything about the facility. They are just simply amazing!

I'm a foster parent with SEPRA, Southeast Pug Rescue and Adoption. I take care of some of our special need pugs. These dogs are extremely sick, and there are times when our General Practice Vets just can't diagnose their illness. This past year was a difficult one for SEPRA. The pugs that came to us were severely neglected, with respect to medical treatment. We had no choice but to trust GVS with the care of these precious souls. I have been extremely happy with the Physicians and Staff. And yes, I've taken the time to review my fosters' charts and make phone calls to question procedures and medications. But over time, I've grown to respect the GVS Specialists, and trust their decisions. And the other reviewer was correct, they're not cheap, but their worth every cent. When you care for your loved ones, you'll search for the best. You'll find it at GVS.

The first time my vet had me take one of my two dogs to GVS I was very impressed with the building and the set-up. I was very concerned with the advice and the drugs the doctor wanted to use for treatment on my dog. Knowing the dangers of that kind of treatment I disregarded his advice totally. Bottom line he was wrong all the way around. Thank goodness my dog never was given the drugs he would have used! I used simple supplements of probiotics and prebiotics with his food. Now two years later my dog is doing better than ever.
My other dog injured her leg running after the cat on the stairs. Due to her breed she has her legs bow out, not good on the joints. The young woman doctor in emergency insisted my dog only had a soft tissue injury. I asked for some films but she in a firm tone didn't seem to have the time? We were sent home with Tramadol and Rimadyl tabs. Two weeks later I had to have films made that should have been made that day. The final Emergency Care Insult came when my same dog ran into the post on the front porch while playing with her mate heading out for our walk. I didn't want to take any chances with her little head so I took her into be seen. After checking in at the desk we sat on a bench by the entrance. After about a half hour a young doctor came out to the lobby sat down next to me on the bench! He introduced himself, and told me that dogs unlike people when they bang their head are just not at risk for brain damage or any kind of life threatening issues. He stood up looked at my dog's face while she sat close next to me (that was the exam, he later wrote about on a grander scale) then he told me to go home and not worry. I really thought for a minute they were not going to charge me considering. I went to the desk a few feet away from where this took place and was told my charges would be $77.00. I said for what? I got the business card for Lea Custer, Client Service Manager. Of course, she was gone for the day. Over the next week I left six messages on her voice mail, I never had my calls returned.
Stand your ground going into GVS so they don't take advantage of you!
