Would not go near this store. They misrepresented their product, lied about me being able to return it and were, on all counts, duplicitous and deceitful.
WARNING: STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS! Poor customer service. Lousy products.
The worst service experience ever.. wonder how they are still in business the most rude people I have ever met. was told that I would get a call about the phone after initial diagnosis - never got a call, after a week of follow-up was asked to pick up and it wasn't ready when I walked in and on further follow-up the outcome was it could not be fixed w/o any reasonable technical explanation even when you repeatedly ask for one.. IF you cannot or do not want to fix just SAY it instead of giving CHEAP excuses. 1 star is the min the webpage allows :(

The new owner who ever he/she is DOES NOT run this business any better then the old one!! WORD TO THE WISE STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THEM AS POSSIBLE !!!!
I dropped my Sony Vaio off at Caveman computers on Sept 21st. Tim who was the owner at the time told me it would be 8-10 days before he got the part. I went back in on the 10th day to check on the status. It seems Tim went out of business and had been bought out. The new gentleman Elliot said my part was not ordered when Tim said it was and that the part was ordered the previous week by the new owners. My computer is now up and running beautifully. The new name is Peidmont Computer Repair and they did a great job on my PC... :)
My first interaction with Caveman Computers owner Steve was on 11/28/08. I was informed that motherboard needed replacing and it would cost $350. I said I was not willing to pay that much as the laptop was over two years old. After Steve provided me a new quote of $299.99 plus tax and explained that my computer would be like new and run much faster than the laptops they were selling for $199, I decided to let them fix it. I explained that I had loaded an old version of Windows XP onto my laptop as my recovery discs were damaged. He said not to worry as they had software there so I proceeded to sign a repair agreement providing “a 90 day warranty on the work completed” and “absolutely no refunds”. I was also required to pay for the repairs up front. By doing this, I was putting a lot of faith in Caveman Computers to deliver quality service in a reasonable timeframe. Dealing with them has become one of my most unsatisfying and unprofessional business experiences. I was given a 6 to 10 business days total repair time. I waited until December 12 to call Caveman Computers. Steve said they were still waiting on the part. Two more weeks passed and still no call from Caveman Computers. On 12/26, my girlfriend called and spoke to Steve. Steve was unable to provide her with any sort of update and said his tech guy would be there in about 20 minutes and would call us back. As expected, no call back was received so my girlfriend called back at 12:30 and again spoke with Steve. He offered no apology for us not getting a returned call. She explained at that point we were tired of getting the run around and told him we would be there in 45 minutes to pick up the laptop. When we got there, they handed me the laptop and said it was fixed. I inquired on why it had taken so long to fix. Steve stated the wrong part was delivered initially and that UPS had dragged their feet. I then asked him why he allowed a month to go by without once calling to tell me there was a delay. He then got defensive saying he was not going to stand there and let me “slander” him and proceeded to say that my girlfriend had “disrespected” him already on the phone earlier. He then threatened to call the cops if we did not leave his store. I was utterly shocked and could not believe I was being treated this way. Feeling that I was not getting the respect or answers I deserved and knowing that neither my girlfriend nor I had cursed at Steve even once, I told Steve he could proceed with calling the cops. He did not like that reply and explained that we were on private property and that we had to leave. I got home and booted up the laptop. I was not happy to see that the same old version of XP was still on the laptop and that my laptop was not connecting to the internet. As I began trying to reinstall the drivers, the laptop got really hot and cut off. Realizing the fan must be bad, I decided to order a new one online. I called Caveman Computers on Saturday January 3 and spoke with Steve and explained that the laptop was not fixed. He told me to bring it back in but that his tech guy would be out until Tuesday. I dropped off the laptop along with a new fan on that Saturday. Being patient and realizing that Steve does not call his customers, I waited until January 23 and called back. Steve told me the laptop would be ready at 2pm the following day. The next day I called at 1:30pm and the tech guy that answers tells me to give them until 3. I get there at 3 and had to wait 45 minutes before they gave me the laptop. I asked the tech guy if they had installed the new fan I provided them with and they had not. He went ahead an replaced the fan and I left. I got home and did see that drivers had been put onto the laptop however the fan is still not working and I am still unable to connect to the internet via LAN line or wireless. At this point, I have decided to no longer continue wasting my time dealing with Caveman Computers and to seek repairs elsewhere.
This place does bad business. I bought a laptop from them 2 months ago. The assured me that the battery just needed to be charged. They also told me it came with a 90 day warrantee. I plugged it in and battery would not take a charge. I brought it back to them and told them I wanted to return it. They told me they "didn't have a return policy". They agreed that the battery was completely dead and told me they would order me a new one. I have been calling them on a weekly basis for 2 months hearing excuse after excuse. Now they recognize my number and no longer answer, I get there machine every time. These guys are liars and thieves. Do not trust a word they say.
