Located in Anniston, Ala., BAE Systems Steel Products Division is one of the world s largest producers of combat vehicle tracks components and solutions. The company also manufactures forged products for the mining and petroleum industries, including flight bars, hubs, treadlinks and wing nuts. Its other products include brake spiders, daggers, pivot shafts, and several items used by the equipment and heavy-duty truck industries. The company offers precision machining, assembly and heat-treating services. It has a facility of more than 450,000-square-feet and integrated forge plants. The company manages several projects for manufacturing steel, aluminum, titanium, metal matrix and rubber tracks. Its forge facility includes mechanical forging presses, salt bath heat-treating, induction hardening and precision machining capabilities. The company manufactures die and tool through computerized numerical control and electric discharge machining. It also conducts failure analysis, metallographic inspection, static testing, and photoelastic and strain-gauge testing. The company is ISO 9001:2000 certified.
