Southside Elementary serves students in grades one through four. Its academic curriculum includes instruction in reading, language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. The school additionally has art, music and physical education specialists. Southside Elementary also offers English as a Second Language and Title I programs, as well as bilingual education. It has a library that stocks various fiction and nonfiction books, magazines, dictionaries, newspapers and other reference materials. The school employs counselors who provide guidance and support services to students, teachers and parents. In addition, Southside Elementary has a parent-teacher organization that sponsors book fairs, family nights and other fundraising events. It is located in Angleton, Texas, and is a part of the Angleton Independent School District.
