Teeth Cleaning

Crowns
In cases where a tooth is badly worn, decayed or fractured below the gumline, we use a procedure called “crown elongation” or “crown lengthening” to adjust the gum and bone level and expose more of the healthy tooth structure prior to placing a dental crown.

Dentures can accelerate bone loss by wearing away at the ridges of bone they rest upon. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
Using the Periscope, we can effectively treat gum disease in about 90% of our patients without surgery. Highly magnified images of the surface of the tooth root are transmitted to a monitor and show us precisely where hardened tartar is present. These images guide us in the process of removing bacterial contaminations that were previously only visible with oral surgery.
Flap Surgery
Because the Periscope gives us close-up views of the area that requires treatment, we can avoid flap surgery in most cases. Flap surgery is a procedure using a surgical opening to give a clear view of, and access to, the area that requires treatment.
Gum Surgery
In nearly all cases of moderate to severe gum disease, gum surgery can be avoided by treatment with the non-invasive perioscopic procedure. We can achieve excellent results, even in difficult cases, without potentially painful cutting or suturing.
Tooth Extractions
The Piezo surgical unit uses modulated ultrasound waves to vibrate and dislodge portions of the tooth that need to be removed. Using special tips, our doctors can gently remove the damaged tooth without fracturing the underlying jawbone. This technique for dental extractions is extremely precise and results in minimal swelling and discomfort.
Bone Grafting
Bone grafting is a frequent component of periodontal surgical procedures. When needed, we can add material to regenerate bone that has been lost.

Orthodontics
Traditional methods of straightening teeth involve moving just your actual teeth. Accelerated orthodontics uses a technique where the doctor will gently create vertical grooves in the gums and outer edge of bone between your teeth. The purpose of this procedure is to allow the gums and bone to move along with the teeth, resulting in faster teeth straightening.
Braces
Your orthodontist will place your braces and, about a week later, Dr. Bakuri will perform the minor surgery in our comfortable office.
