The Louisiana Department of Social Services is responsible for developing and providing social services and improving social conditions for the citizens of Louisiana. The department is also responsible for rehabilitating persons with disabilities. The department offers adoption and foster parenting-related services, protective services for adults and children, cash and emergency assistance and child support services.
