So today I had an issue with my video card dying (third one since i bought it from Dell) and I went to 2 major competitors in the area and their prices were astronomical compared to Dr Dans! I got my computer fixed for less than the cost of a ""disagnostic"" at another site including getting it done THE SAME DAY! Those other places quoted me sometime next week, and as a person going to college online, I needed it done ASAP. So, forget the ""expperss service"" fees of $50 and $100 at the other places, Dr Dans is the place to go! Same day, and less cost. In times of economic troubles, be smart and pay with your smarts!

I have bought 2 complete used systems at Dans. The 1st one lasted me about 4 years. Not bad for the modest price I paid. I'm using another one of his used systems now and am very satisfied, both with price and performance. As for the antivirus program they sell, I have had very good results with it. I would highly recommend them. As for the unsatisfied customers, some cannot be pleased and I think others do not try to resolve the problems without first complaining.

I was at Dr. Dan's yesterday and made a comment about the bad reviews on Google and City Search. I have been a long time customer of Dr. Dan's since the mid 1990's I have taken all my computers. My parents computers and recommended them to all my friends who thank me for recommending them. I understand that some people expect miracles from Dr. Dan's Computers. They are good just not miracle workers. . Also you must understand that only customer's with bad experiences or high expectations will post negative reviews. Dr. Dan's is my computer repair place and I will always recommend them. 15 years in business and only word of mouth advertising speaks bundles for a business.

I've delayed looking for a computer shop wanting to make sure I found a good one and Dr. Dan's was worth the wait. Knowing they've been in business 17 years I'm so happy to support a small business with excellent rates! The place was happily busy when I went in (and so easy to find just north of I-25 off of San Mateo with very convenient parking). I've been in several times, have bought 3 used computers from them and had a computer serviced. I've learned so much from the friendly and caring employees, plus the owner was even there to meet, it's definitely the best decision I could have made for our computer problems.

To all Dr. Dan’s Customers,
We here at Dr. Dan’s Computers care very much about the opinions expressed about our service and products and thank all who have posted to this webpage letting us know about your experiences both good and bad. Dr. Dan’s has gone though quite a few changes over the past couple years. We have remodeled, hired new management and customer service/tech staff, and instituted new polices to better suite our customers needs. As a result of these changes we have received numerous complements on how helpful our staff is and how good the remodel of the shop looks. Like any other business we do receive complaints, have misunderstandings, and slight errors from time to time. When situations go astray we try very hard to work with our customers to achieve an equitable solution. It is very rare when an issue with our service or products can not be resolved, but we do want our customers to feel that they were treated fairly and respectfully. Above all we want a positive outcome with our customers, due to the fact that we do not run advertisements like a normal business. We rely solely on the word of mouth of our customers, and our customers have kept us in business for over 15 years.
We know that computers have become a necessary tool in day to day life and that it is very frustrating when they are not working properly. It is with that in mind that we try to educate our customers, offer quick no nonsense service, low prices, and decent low cost systems, for those with tight budgets. We even build custom high end systems, workstations, and servers, and can usually beat the price of name band systems. If we can not beat a price, or provide a service or part, we’ll tell our customers straight out and refer them to someone who can. In many cases we advise customers against certain, not cost effective repairs, rather then take their money and fix a system that is not worth fixing. We install only copyrighted, fully legal and licensed software and when we come across systems with pirated software we advise our customers to their rights and offer them licenses to make them legal.
To sum up we would like to thank all of our customers for keeping us going strong for such a good number to years. We have survived the downfall of many of our competitors and hope to grow and provide grate service to many others for years to come.

I have been going to Dr. Dan's for years. It's a great little shop with fair prices on new and used computers and repairs. I came across this web page while googleing for their number and noticed two bad reviews that made me angry enough to post my own GOOD review, to refute their clams.
I don't know if ""bigdude61"" is the same person who was in the store the same day i was but while i was taking my computer in one day this guy comes in and set his computer down with a nasty attatude. The employees were very busy, the gentleman that was helping me was also helping two other persons at the time, but he still took the time to say hello to the new person. The customer started barking complants that this is the worst computer that he had ever bought and that he wanted it to be fixed at no charge. The clerk was very respectful and applogized, and told they customer that they were very busy but they would be happy to look at the system as soon as they could, but he would have to check the computer in. He asked to see the customers recept and then informed the customer that the computer was out of warranty, and if he wanted it repaired he would be charged. This customer was very angry and shouted that he wanted it done now. The clerk was very calm and professonal and told the man he was very sorry, but if he wanted to look through some of the parts to find what he needed he could have them, AT NO CHARGE, and replace them himself. The customer took what he needed and on his way out made a nasty comment that he would not be back if they did not want to help him.
As i said i don't know if this was the same person, but from what I saw Dr dan's treated the man very respectfully and professionally even in the face of him being very rude and dissrespectful.
As for the microsoft clams, I don't think these people have ever set foot in that shop. As you walk in, there are signs that say ""they WILL NOT load or install ANY microsoft software without proof of ownership."" They even have that on the work orders they have you sign. I had to bring in my copies of Office 2007, and microsoft money for them to install, and when i asked why i had to bring in my copies, they very respectfuly told me that due to copyright laws they can not install software that i can not prove that i own.
It seems to me that not enough people speek up for those that are doing the right thing. These other posters seem to want to slander Dr Dan's for obeying the law, and because they didn't get their own way. I have worked with people before and one thing remains true. No matter what you do you CAN NOT make everyone happy. I know of many others that have been very happy with the work Dr Dan's perfoms and have recommended them myself. I have bought 6 computers from Dr Dan's and not one has been bad or put together incorrectly. All of them have worked great and for what I needed them to. I WILL GO BACK to Dr Dan' s for all my future repairs and computer needs.
