Karen Goldovitz started her real state career with us back in 1992. She left in 1999 to pursue other avenues and to spend more time with her small children. She rejoined the firm in 2019 after a twenty-year absence. Karen has nearly thirty years’ experience in residential real estate, as well as commercial real estate, estate planning, estate administration, personal injury, litigation and corporate law. Karen specifically assists Attorney Scheier and Attorney Melon in all aspects of residential real estate, commercial real estate, corporate formation and maintenance. Karen is married with two grown children and lives in Auburn with her husband, three stepchildren and two ragdoll kittens. Mark has been a resource for me for years and recently helped me with through a difficult situation. Following a death in my family and reduced income, I was facing bankrupcy. Mark was compassionate while he guided me through the process legally. I had to move out of my home of over 30 years and couldn't get the bank to work with me as the mortgage was higher than the current market value. After almost two years of trying to sell, I was facing foreclosure, but had an interested buyer with a low offer. Again, the bank was not responding to my requests for a short sale so Mark took over the lengthy negotiations and worked with my realtor so that the bank accepted the offer the day before the foreclosure! Mark kept me informed; he knew how to handle a short sale and he got results! Mark did not make a lot of money on this transaction and yet he went above and beyond to help me. I would strongly recommend Mark to anyone looking for an exceptional attorney!

Heather Dumont joined our firm in September 2021. Before joining Scheier, Katin & Epstein, she owned and operated her own law firm for 10 years. Heather provides caring and compassionate legal services in the areas of estate planning, trust and probate administration as well as Federal and Massachusetts estate tax preparation. She works closely with accountants and financial planners to provide a comprehensive plan and tax savings for her clients. In addition to saving families money, Heather’s goal is to provide everyone with peace of mind and guidance to choose the best plan for them.
