This review has been a long time coming and should've been written a year ago. I am fixing to order another one of my daughter's birthday cakes from them and decided I needed to finally give my review! Last year for my daughter's first birthday, I had a birthday cake disaster at another bakery in town that was suppose to make my daughter a camo birthday cake (her name is Hunter) hence the camo, I brought in a design and everything and the other bakery said they could do it no problem and it would be perfect. I went in on that Thursday to pick it up before the party on Saturday and almost started to cry or laugh I wasn't sure which I wanted to do when they brought the cake out. It literally looked like my daughter had done the artwork on the cake herself and looked nothing like the design I had brought in or even camo at that, it was a forest possibly with a target on top of some of the trees on one side and it was just BAD. I'm not a picky mom, I would've understood if it didn't look exactly like the design, but at least similar and at least look professional. So I immediately started calling around to pay whatever price it would take to make another cake at that point I didn't care long as we could have one done that would look presentable for her first birthday. That first one is a pretty big deal and there were a lot of guests that would be seeing this cake. I was able to contact Creative Cakes and they looked at the same design and Saturday morning when I picked up her cake I did cry, because it was so much more than even expected with such a short notice and turn around and the price wasn't bad either. I would highly recommend them to anybody and am calling them today to have them do her cake for this year's birthday, as well!! Thank you ladies of Creative Cakes of Abilene and I am so sorry it has taken me this long to write this review!!!
The food is very good and the service was friendly. Try there gorditas..
We LOVE THIS PLACE We were introduce to this place in 1997. Our neighbors on Dyess AFB. Our neighbors who are Mexican were moving to their new Base introduced us to them. Our Family Sunday routine is calling our order in and picking it up. Food is great!!!
Yes, $2.50 a pop! No, nobody's kidding you! Lol. Soommmeee People!! No, I don't work at this bakery and am in no way affiliated, I'm simply a traveling military person who gives good reviews when and where I deem them necessary. These cupcakes and cake balls are SOOOOO yummalicious! It's seriously a party for your taste buds. If you have a hard time saying no to sweets, don't stop here. My most favorite was the strawberry cupcake, it's such a classic, but they've perfected it at this bakery. If I were a caterer, I'd refer all of my brides to this bakery for wedding cakes. 2nd to NONE. Please stop by and pick up a few flavors, but GO EARLY... if you wait until after work there won't be many to choose from. It's happened to me, Ohhh, the Horror! So, yes-- drop by, not on Monday-- that happened to me to. :-) I want to save you some time here, but go buy a cupcake and some cake balls, you'll be so glad you did.
Sweet Life cupcakes is absolutely amazing! Me and my friends from ACU have been looking for a place to go and get some good coffee and something sweet! This place is adorable and of great quality. The lemon cupcake and Chocolate bourbon are just fantastic! Thank you Sweet life Cupcakes! So great!
I'm going to rate this business only one star because the only good thing about it was that the inside was decorated really cute and the staff was really nice. The cupcakes cost $2.50 a piece!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? The best cupcakes in Abilene only cost a little over a dollar - but $2.50??? And worst of all, out of the dozen we bought, half were bone dry and the other half were moist but the moist ones were really greasy (they left a greasy residue on our hands.) The best thing about the cupcakes was the icing, and it was just normal icing. Nothing wrong with it, but it was just normal - it definitely was NOT worth $2.50! That's 2 1/2 times HIGHER than ANY cupcakes in Abilene. I'm not exaggerating when I say that you could go to Walmart or HEB and get the best cupcakes you've ever had for a fraction of that price. In Dallas, they sell cupcakes that are about the size of 3 regular cupcakes for about $2.50 or $3! How do these people justify charging that much money for a standard-sized cupcake? I was thinking for $2.50, I better get a damn good cupcake and perhaps it should even come with a lover and some wine, for THAT amount of money, geez. I will never go there again and neither will the friend I went with. She was equally unimpressed. However, I suppose if you want some good company and some good decorating ideas, it might be a nice place to go - although it's extremely tiny in there - I'm thinking it's maybe 250 sq feet with only a 2-seater bench with a coffee table and a 1-seater iron chair with a small, matching round table. Not sure how long these poor people will make it here :(
This place is terrific. Everything I've tried so far is great. They are known for their cheesecakes, but their pastries are really good, too. And they are different....not the same old muffins. The cinnamon buns are the best I've EVER had.
