Overall
pick another shop

I have had bobby and rex work on each arm. (one on each arm)

i started with rex back in march. had a koi outline done on 14 March 09.

i had the koi filled in (partially) and at that point rex told me he would like to schedule the completion on a sunday.

i said this was no problem.

here is where the problems start. with the koi fill in, i paid the final amount for the work to be completed.

(hence, no more money)

i tried to get some time scheduled but he always said he couldn't do it. so we made 3 appointments.

(i forgot the first appointment date, but he canceled on me)

the second and third appointments were on father's day (which he canceled and didn't even bother to call to tell me so i made my hour drive down there and sat and waited for two hours while the owner tried to get a hold of him) and 07 Aug 09, which he also canceled the night before.

at this point i called the owner and said that this needed to be resolved. he said he would go and talk to him.

(he canceled my 07 Aug 09 appointment because there was going to be no money. he was at the shop that day, as the owner spoke to him)

last saturday i drove down. i get there around 145/200 and walk in to an empty shop. no customers or anything.

he walks out and sees me and says "i can't do you today. today is my money day and i can't spend hours on that. we can reschedule for a monday or something, just not this monday."

owner addressed the problem then he refunded the last fee i paid for the work, $150.00.

i had to wait for 4 hours until bobby came in at 6. i went in and we got to work. right after we started, rex came back to the shop. he walked by the door and saw bobby working on my arm and said "oh! your doing it?" then he looked at me and said "well, you're a crybaby!"

he walked back outside and brought in two small totes and proceeded to pack all of his equipment up and take it to his truck. then he told the owner he quit.

so bobby touched up the koi that rex almost screwed up. looks a million times better than what rex managed to put on my arm.

however bobby has some work to do. i have a black band on my wrist. i decided to shade that band so that it matched with a hexagram for the i ching. the hexagram has six black bars. on the front of my wrist, i was getting the top three bars (top line divided and two solid lines beneath) on the inside of my wrist would be the bottom three bars (top and bottom lines solid and the middle line divided)

i had the design for the stencil so there shouldn't have been any problems

not only are some of the lines not straight, but where the divisions are, the lines go beyond the boundary of where they should be (picture a rectangle. now extend the line on the top of the rectangle a little further than where it should stop to make the complete polygon, like it has a little antenna on one corner)

this can't be fixed so now i have to change the hexagram

screwed up, uneven lines.

all it would have taken was to take the time with the stencil. shrink it to the appropriate size. don't try to just make do with an inappropriate sized stencil.

prices are ok but i think i will just have my work done where i am at. i'm not wasting the drive anymore to have screwed up work on my arm. overall i have been pleased with the work. (from bobby) (with the exception of the band that i just had inked)

the owner is reasonable and tries to get things accomplished and resolve issues that come up. he owns and works at the nail salon two doors down from the shop. (Z nails)

i would suggest looking at other shops.
