Our concrete steps were pulling away from our townhouse. Rick's team replaced them with deck steps. We are so happy with the result. They look great. The backyard was never a space we used and now we can't wait to be in the backyard this summer! He was so great about offering advice on other areas we need to improve to avoid damage to our home. About a year ago, Rick and his crew built our dream deck and turned a nasty muddy and often flooded fenced in rear yard into a drop dead gorgeous stamped concrete patio complete with drainage that works. Furthermore, he made our vision into reality by creating a safe and fun play areas in my small back yard for my young children.



He also made us customers for life, or as long as we're living in Virginia. Could not more highly recommend his work...sorry for the long delay in posting a review Rick! Thank you again for a job well done, we are still very happy with it and will be sending our neighbors your way soon.

RJ Fisher Construction is all that is advertised. Rick was fair, accessible, and 100% honest in his proposal and through construction. His crew was fantastic, friendly, and they finished our 14 x 26 Fiberon deck in 4 days. We highly recommend Mr. Fisher and his company and will definitely let our friends and neighbors know about RJ Fisher Construction and their value.

We went with Fisher Construction because they are always trying to improve there construction methods. To me this is quality. Many other construction companies just want a cookie cutter approach to get in and out. Rick really wants a quality product that you are happy with at the end of the day. During construction he was available for all questions and concerns. Heck even after the finished construction he has been available for questions. They are also very quick and to the point when building.

We had our deck built a couple months ago, and have had no complaints in the quality, durability, or overall construction of the deck so far. The vast majority of the decks in our neighborhood were built by the developer's contractor, and there is a noticeable difference in quality between those decks and the deck built by Rick's crew. Being on a corner lot, the deck gets a lot of exposure, and everyone that passes by compliments how great it looks compared to other similarly designed decks in the area.



Rick uses Fiberon synthetic wood over the Trex that everyone else uses, and it makes a huge difference. I love the way the deck turned out, and looking back, I am glad our previous contractor failed to show up for the job.



The entire process with Rick was very friendly and he answered all the questions we had pertaining to the quality, construction process, and the different options he offers. He even brought us over to his own home to see the deck he built as a sample of quality and a general idea of how our deck would turn out.



Rick's price is unbeatable, as well. After having called over a dozen contractors, Rick had not only quoted us the lowest price, but the end product was beyond what the higher priced companies could even come close to. The end product looks much more expensive that the price we were quoted, and in my opinion, it is the little details Rick and his crew add in for free that set him apart from the competition. From the modern design to the small details of seam placement, covering screw holes, painting the posts, and many, many more small details the other companies all wanted to charge extra for Rick, for the most part, includes in the quoted price at no extra charge.



We are planning on contracting Rick and his crew for more work in the near future to construct a patio below the deck, and possibly screening it in.



Bottom line - if you are looking to have the best deck/patio/porch, etc. in the neighborhood at the best price, give Rick a call. He is going to be our go-to contractor for any further additions on our house.

Five stars!!!! I am writing to tell of an excellent experience with R. J. Fisher Construction. As we considered adding a small deck to our new house, we had lots of options – an added option by our home builder, do it myself, or as an add-on post-construction by one of the many local construction companies.

I ruled out the first option and my wife ruled out the second and did her own market research and got a few quotes.

Rick Fisher came by the house, listened carefully, and didn’t try a hard sell. He was enthusiastic about the job, clearly took a lot of pride in his work, and treated us like we were creating a work of art.

He is a very experienced builder with a web site with scores of photos of completed projects. He invited us to his house to see his deck and how he used different materials and how different options might work with our planned deck. He additionally gave us brochures and everything we could think of to help us make our decision. We thought the quote was very reasonable, considering what he was going to do with the planned deck.

He pulled the construction permits for us and coached us on what our HOA would need. We had no problems with the HOA or PWC inspectors at any of the three visits they made.

The workers arrived early each morning, worked hard throughout the day, worked like a well-oiled machine, and left daily at 3 pm. The attention to detail and quality of work was quickly evident – each individually took pride in every cut, like they were putting together a masterpiece. They clearly like working for their boss and displayed good camaraderie with the team. They were all experienced and had many years experience working together and kept the site neat and cleaned up after they completed their work.

A new neighbor stopped by, complimented the attention to detail and superb craftsmanship and went on to get a quote for his own house.

We were very happy with the finished product, definitely felt that we got our money’s worth at a great price, and would strongly recommend R. J. Fisher for anyone looking to build a deck. He’s definitely at the top of the list when we look at our next project .

Rick Fisher is truly a find! He and his crew built a beautiful front porch for me and my family to enjoy! The dogs too!!!!!

We highly recommend the R. J. Fisher Construction Company for your next building project. The company demolished our old 20+ year old pressure treated wooden deck and replaced it with a 21' x 16' hip roof covered deck made of the state-of -the-art composite materials. The building crew did an absolutely fantastic job of integrating the deck's new hip roof into the roof of the house. We are very pleased with the new deck. We call it our outdoor room. It has decorative columns for roof support, ceiling fan, recessed ceiling lighting, low voltage lighting for the steps, etc. Nothing was over looked. For example, close by the flower beds were protected, grassy areas were res-seed and mulch was replaced in need areas, etc. It was a pleasure working wit the building crew. They were professional and very courteous. The company provided good communications during construction and follow up after the job which prevented frustrations and enhanced the experience. Subsequent to the hip roof covered deck project, the company replaced our concrete sidewalk and extended our driveway around the side of the house to the steps of our new deck. The extended driveway can be used as a patio extension from the deck. A job well done.

Rick Fisher and his crew did an exceptional job on our new deck. In the early stages of the project, my husband and I were undecided about certain aspects of the deck; Rick had relevant suggestions, showed patience with our concerns, and worked within our budget. The end result is a beautifully constructed and very attractive new deck which we will enjoy for many years to come.

I was very impressed with Rick and his crew. They were very professional and prompt. Rick sat down with my wife and I and explained the whole process from beginning to end. Now we have one of the best three decks in our area including my two neighbors deck that Rick and his crew also built. He met our expectations and finish goal....before July 4th.

In the long lifetime of a family farmhouse in Occoquan built prior to 1840, there came a moment when, due to the ravages of time and weather, the wood siding could no longer hold protective paint.

This farmhouse has sheltered generations in our family and families before us holding its old fashioned identity. Siding, oh my…would this change lead to loss of memories….



Rick Fisher visited and, with understanding and expertise, oversaw the rehabilitation of this property, maintaining its character and prospect both for us and for the Town. Because he is a long-time community member himself, he intuitively understood, supported and became the key man in the mission to rehabilitate this house.



His plan was followed by his excellent crew. Due to its age, the house is irregular leading to many more cuts in the siding than usual. There are curved windows, a front porch, a back porch needing a new roof and other challenges. His crew was on time, good humored, skilled, and immaculate. They worked around a special needs child and even left a perch for the cat to oversee the happenings.



Somehow, now, the siding looks as though it has always been there. The new roof matches exactly. Thank you Rick and crew for a job well done….I recommend R. J. Fisher Construction without reservation.
