Do not become a patient of Dr....

Do not become a patient of Dr. Elaine MacIsaac. She was my physician in Winchester, VA, but I moved. I wanted to continue to have her as my primary care physician, so I didn't look for a new one, even though I moved 75 miles away. I made an appointment, took the day off of work, and when I arrived, apparently the nurse forgot to schedule me. Mistakes happen; however, knowing that I had a 150 mile round trip, Dr. MacIsaac still would not see me! She did not offer an apology. When another patient (who lived locally) offered to give me her appointment, as she had another appointment for the next week as well, Dr. MacIsaac refused. Next...I moved again, and now I'm moving for a third time in less than a year and a half - I work for the federal government, and they send me where they need me.. As such, I didn't know what city I would be in for a significant amount of time, and so did not want to select a new doctor - it's difficult to find someone new. In the meantime, Dr. MacIsaac continued to refill my prescriptions on a three-month basis (including my cholesterol medication and meds for my SEVERE restless leg syndrome). I received a call from my parmacy a few days ago to inform me that Dr. MacIsaac declined to refill my prescriptions. Neither they nor I received prior notification, and now I'm completely out of my meds. I contacted her office the next morning and left a detailed message and haven't received a response. I contacted my pharmacy today to check to see if her office bypassed me and refilled the Rx directly with my pharmacy. They did not.
Dr. MacIsaac has displayed a complete disregard for my health and well-being. She has no consideration for the time I took to get to her office, and now has placed my health at risk, not to mention serious discomfort. A patient should not go off meds cold turkey, as she has forced me to do. Her actions are beyond unethical, irresponsible, and unconscionable. I don't believe this person should be allowed to practice medicine. I gave this a zero star rating, but my review was not accepted without one, which is the only reason there is one star.

Had the worse experience that I've ever had with a doctor. Saw Dr Peake two different times and not once did she listen to my chest or touch me for an examination. She was too busy upselling protein products.

Dr. T Avery Gibbs almost caused me my life. He treated me for asthma for an extended period of time-I NEVER had asthma I had ovarian cancer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If it was not for another doctor in his own practice I would NOT be alive today. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR IF YOU VALUE YOUR OR A LOVED ONES LIFE. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR.

Not recommended for elderly patients. Dr Bechamps gives the impression she would rather be anywhere else.

Overall

I just moved to the area out of state and I have been going through a lot of changes in the past year. I have been having pain throughout my body for the last couple of years which I have been associating with working too hard physically. The unfortunate part is I have now become depressed because of all the changes in my life too. I went into the Selma Open Door to get some sort of relief. I was in pain and crying the whole entire time I was in the Open Door. The physicians assistant who I saw which was Nichols Deptula was nice but come to realize only gave me a depression medicine for 20 days. I did not realize it until I got to the pharmacy. After several phone calls I was told that I would have to make an appointment for any additional medicine. I asked for an appointment with an internal medicine doctor which I could not see because of their schedule for several weeks. By this time the depression medicine I had been prescribe was all gone and really did not even have a chance to work because it was for only 20 days. I arrived at my appointment to find out that my doctor was a family doctor not an internist. I told the receptionist that I had asked for an internal medicine doctor and she ignored me like I had not said anything. The other receptionist next to her could see that I was not happy and she called to schedule an appointment for me but they would not see me until the middle of February over a month away. I said I would continue on with the appointment today. The intake nurse was friendly and seemed to understand that I was not in any way feeling good. She was understanding of my complaint of all the mishaps that I had gone through at Selma Medical. The real reason I am complaining is because of Dr. Samer Hawari. At first he seemed ok but quickly went off track for why I was there to begin with. I am not a physician but I have been having pain all over my body for several years even before the depression. He quickly went to assuming all of my problems were because of what has only come about in the last 6 months which is not true. I almost was ready for him to say that I was over weight too. Again I have been experiencing pain for several years. I believe that he did not like the fact that the physician assistant did not do his job correctly with the dose that he prescribed in which he stated that he would have a chat with him. He also stated that what had happened to me should not of happened. I decided to tell him that several of the receptionist had in my opinion violated confidentiality the doctor flipped on me and said that he was finished with me and that if I did not like it I could find another doctor. When I asked who do I complain to he stated there is no one I am the boss. Winchester is only getting bigger and this is what all of the people who are retiring out here can expect?
