Wendy's Alterations

If you are looking for personal attention to detail, this is the place to go. Wendy is a perfectionist and is highly recommended. She has shown me why bringing in your correct undergarments, and your shoes for the hemming, makes all the difference. Note, she won't let you out without trying on the finished garment as she is making sure you are completely satisfied.

Whatever you do do NOT go to Wendy's. I took in a dress with simple alterations was given a date come in to try on and she changed it as she was too busy with others. went in for next visit and nothing had been done except the hem which she just cut off and it was uneven. the alterations on the top of dress were never done. the cups were whip stitched in and stuck out the top on one side. the stays on sides bowed and she never bother fixing the back nor did she put in the stickies to hold the dress in place. When I picked it up she said no need to try on as its just fine. When I got the dress home and she tried it on all we could do was cry and use double sided tape to hold in place snip the cups to slide them down where they belonged and so on. Anyway this was the worst experience ever by an older woman who really needs to retire. She preaches how good she is but the truth is she is a lousy seamstress and don't expect your clothes to ready when you need them. and for this I paid $120

We had a wonderful experience with Wendy last spring. She is very professional and the dress was perfect after she altered it. We are going to her again this spring to alter a few other dresses. She is very talented! Highly recommend!!

I was greeted immediately upon arrival. Very friendly and fixed a zipper on my winter coat. I highly recommend Wendy's for all your custom tailoring needs.

Be very careful and make sure you get in writing exactly what you want. Wendy does a fine job with some things, like basic alterations, but has become too busy to complete custom products that are labor intensive. The gown I took into be turned into a dress was so poorly made it could not be worn. The hem was 1.5" lopsided, stitches weren't properly sewn and were falling apart, and ribbon we agreed on was used for other customers; she was then "too busy" to get more and offered me a coupon so I could go look for it just days before the event for which the dress was needed. She also called several times and delayed fittings, saying she hadn't gotten to it yet. Once she called 30 mins before the appt to reschedule. I got the dress 3 weeks after the date promised, less than a day before it was needed, only to discover she had rushed through the work and it really showed. A huge disappointment, and she expected full payment.
