David Junkin Jr., M.D., originates from the Philadelphia area. He attended Temple University School of Medicine. After residency at Temple University Hospital, he completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of Kentucky, caring for the Division I and II level athletes. Dr. Junkin has been in practice since 2008 and prior to moving to New Jersey he practiced at an affiliate hospital of the University of Pittsburgh, treating numerous athletes. Dr. Junkin is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and specializes in arthroscopy of knee, shoulder and ankle, including ACL reconstruction and rotator cuff repair. He also performs joint preserving and joint replacement procedures for arthritis of the knee and shoulder, including reverse total shoulder replacements. Dr. Junkin is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and an active member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. Serving as an Associate Master Instructor for the Arthroscopy Association of North America’s Fundamentals in Arthroscopy course, Dr. Junkin teaches Orthopaedic residents the skills and techniques of surgical arthroscopy.
