        Genesis Health Club opened its doors in 1986, in a single location at 13th & West Street, on the west side of Wichita, Kansas. In 1994 Rodney Steven II, current President and Owner of Genesis Health Clubs, purchased the business. Rodney attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois on a tennis scholarship and upon graduation, he continued to follow his vision of pursuing a healthy lifestyle and helping others in his hometown do the same. He recognized the need for a fitness center that was focused on top-quality customer service and personal attention. It was from this early vision that the service-oriented, results-based training model was born, and Genesis Health Club anchored its rightful place in the fitness industry. Our goal from the beginning has always been to provide the best customer service possible and to help our members achieve their health and fitness goals with the best program and facilities available. We love what we do, as our passion for health and fitness is growing stronger than ever. GENESIS HEALTH CLUBS will continue to grow, change, innovate, add new services and even add new locations in order to provide the best customer service and facilities possible to our members.         Do Not Join This Gym!

        Recently, I was diagnosed with a serious medical condition which makes it impossible for me to work out. I had hoped to end my member ship to Genesis Health Club as a result of now facing large medical bills, huge cuts in pay from months not being able to work, and (most importantly) not being able to work out .



        I have called Genesis repeatedly and spoken with the manager personally. I proved them a copy of my doctor’s note and Genesis has verified my absence from my job with my employers. All of this, however, was not enough to convince Genesis of my truthfulness. Even putting my membership on hold still requires you to pay my full monthly membership fees.



        Their contract is unbreakable and now I find myself locked into a ridiculous contract which requires me to pay for services that I am MEDICALLY UNABLE TO RECEIVE. I had expected a higher level of courtesy, thoughtfulness, and morality from a company which depends so heavily on its community support. Do not sign a contract with Genesis. They care more about making money than they do the health and safety of their members.

        Great Atmosphere

        I was very pleased with Genesis East Central. The staff is very friendly, equipment is organzied and clean, and they offer many group fitness activities. I have two small children and the on-site childcare was very clean and the price was very reasonable.

        The Best

        Genesis has a variety of activities to enjoy and five locations to fit your schedule. They are very family oriented and the customer service is above what you normally get anywhere. It feels good to walk into a place where they know your name and treat you well.
