Hickory Hills Apartments

My fiancé, our daughter, and I have been here since the middle of June. The property manager has been nothing but pleasant to us and Maintenance fixed our air conditioning problem within 24 hours. The grounds are immaculate and kept well. The apartments are a decent size and we haven't had any issues so far. It is a safe place to live, especially if you have children.

Nice community. Leasing manager Sophia is a hot lying mess!!! Maintenance does what they can or what Sophia will allow. Take pictures of everything!!! They love to keep security deposits. Make this your last resort!!!!

I would think twice about renting here. Maintenance barely does what they should. I currently rent here and have for 5 years. I'm going to be moving because it's bug infested, the manager is rude and a liar. My ceiling in my bathroom has been falling apart for 2 years and still waiting for it to be fixed. It took 2 years to get my toilet fixed, the place has caught on fire due to electrical problems from what I am told but the manager Sophia blames it on tenants. If you have more than 1 vehicle be prepared to be harrassed if you don't move all your vehicles everyday or else you will be threatened to have it towed! Oh and let's not forget the manager will take part of your security deposit if you do not have the carpets steam cleaned when you move ( I was informed of this when I gave my notice). This is not my first rodeo living in apts and every one I have lived in ( and was also a manager) have cleaned the carpets before a new tenant moves in. So why should I have to pay to have the carpets cleaned? It's called normal wear and tear! And security deposit should not be touch to do what they are supposed to do anyways. Yeah it's a nice place to live if your desperate like I was to find a place, but would seriously recommend you look else where

Pros: Very quiet community and very diversed, nice and respectful neighbors, nice pool area.

Cons: THE LEASING MANAGER IS A LIAR AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DAVID LEADER MANAGEMENT BELIEVES EVERYTHING SHE SAYS AND WILL EVICT YOU BASED ON HER INFORMATION. Apartments are sort of small but pretty cozy. Not a horrible place to rent but be prepared for ants, broken heat/ac, and shower issues. If SOPHIA wasn't managing the complex, many people would have stayed. People are flocking out of here because she is THE DEVIL!!! Save yourself the agony, keep looking. And I am not a bitter ex-resident, but if I can save someone the trouble, I will! Please take my advice.

SHE CHARGES EVERYONE 1 MONTH AND A HALF SEC. DEPOSIT AND TO GET YOU TO MOVE IN SHE WILL LET YOU MOVE IN EARLY WITH NO CHARGE AND SAY "I'M GOING OUT OF TOWN THIS WEEKEND SO YOU CAN MOVE IN EARLY."

My family and I have been living here for 6 months. The longer I stay the more I am feeling like home. The kitchens are cute and very clean. Up to date cabinets, floor, and counter tops. Very clean grounds. Very quiet. Quick to help maintenance. Front office is very helpful and full of life. Has a no play, keep it fair attitude. I have had no trouble or seen any. Pool has been great all summer and the exercise room has up-to-date machines. No problems parking. Great place to live. Very close to a lot of stores and restaurants.
