Downtown Family Dental

Dental Examination
Preventative procedures include a general dental check. This health sustaining exam and cleaning( Prophylaxis ) is suggested twice a year, to make sure your teeth are always headed in the right direction.

Teeth Cleaning

Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride treatments are recommended by the American Dental Association to help harden the teeth to prevent decay. These treatments are also recommended for adults with exposed roots and those with compromised salivary flow or dry mouth syndrome. Home care fluoride trays are occasionally made for patients with recurrent cavities and severe root sensitivity.
Dental Sealants
Sealants are suggested to seal the grooves on the surfaces of your back teeth to prevent tooth decay. Dr Merry’s state-of-the -art facility makes use of Diagnodent lazer, a light based cavity detector to pin point areas of decay in the teeth.

Resin Composite
Cavity Fillings make use of minimally invasive dentistry. Crowns
Dr. Timothy Merry is a General Dentist and a 1983 graduate of Marquette University School of Dentistry. After graduation, he served in the United States Army and rotated through the specialties of crown and bridge, children’s dentistry and periodontics. He has been practicing in West Bend since 1990 and recently relocated to Downtown Family Dental where he will be practicing with his son, Dr. Kyle Merry.
Bridges
Tooth loss occurs due to decay, accidents and periodontal disease. One solution to bring back that full aesthetic smile would be a bridge. The doctor would make suggestions depending on the strength and health of your teeth. A bridge is a prosthetic tooth that attaches on one or both sides with dental crowns to fill in the space of a missing tooth. A fixed bridge is permanently attached between two or more crowned teeth lasting many years with proper care. Implants are also alternatives for replacement of teeth.
Dental Bonding
A beautiful smile can be enhanced with a one appointment Cosmetic Bonding. The bonding is used for chipped or slightly irregularly shaped or discolored teeth. The doctor applies a white dental resin,matching the color of your existing teeth, to aesthetically reshape a tooth to bringing out a better smile.

Root Canal Treatment
All teeth have varying numbers of roots with c anals. When the tooth becomes severely decayed it can cause pulp damage and eventually the tooth will die. With todays root canal therapy the doctor uses techniques to remove the damaged tissue, replace it with man made materials and can save the tooth, restoring it to proper oral health.

Dr. Merry enjoys practicing all aspects of dentistry; ranging from dentures to children’s dentistry. Dr. Merry has participated in volunteer organizations such as Give Kid’s a Smile, Smiles for the Future and Head Start. He is a member of the American Dental Association and the Wisconsin Dental Association. Dr. Merry is excited to be able to bring his knowledge of current technologies to the practice. His favorite aspect of dentistry is developing relationships with his patients; and providing dental treatment in a relaxed, comfortable and caring setting.

Dental Implants
A missing tooth can impair a person from eating, chewing and smiling. Dental implants are a long term solution to tooth loss that can improve both self confidence and function. By surgically installing a titanium post in the bone the implant creates a tooth root. When the area has healed with the implant, the doctor will attach a crown, partial or denture to that implant creating a secure, natural-looking restoration. A smile you can show off.
