Universal Bread

GREAT BREAD!!! I have been disapointed on numerous occasions with the quality of most breads passed off as fresh baked European in the state of Maine. I live in Central Maine. Unless I want to drive to Portland, Bangor or maybe even Lewiston/Auburn, or over to the coast, my choice of baked bread in a European style, is a supermarket idea of what bread is. it's never crusty or chewy, or....? It's always pricey, but never hits the mark. UNTIL THIS PAST SATURDAY. I discovered a bakery in Waterville. Not too far away. About 20 mi. It beats 70 to Portland. The baker only uses the four basic ingredients. Flour, water, salt, and yeast. NO preservatives. He only serves hot bread. Really nice guy. I bought two loaves. He gave me a round baggette to try. We had a nice conversation. I left feeling like "I JUST HIT THE NUMBER". For a few fleeting moments it was like being back in my old neighborhood. This guy is the real deal. If you are anywhere near Waterville, me. and you like great European style crusty loaves of bread, stop by. You won't be disapointed.
