Watauga Middle School

I myself actually go to this school; currently, I am in eighth grade. The school is horrible. There's a lot of things that are definitely criminal activity: bullying, sexual harassment, etc. To start, the administration is horrible.



Firstly, the administration is completely unprofessional. I say that because I've seen their office staff act in an entirely unprofessional manner towards my relatives when doing things such as picking me up from school for an early dismissal.



On top of the overall bad office administration, I also have complaints about the nurse. In seventh grade, there was an occasion where I had actually vomited multiple times. Despite this, she did nothing about it, even though there was direct proof I had done so... at least until I told the vice principal about it.



Secondly, the teachers and staff in general do not care. Their own vice principals explained this quite well: they are paid on the attendance rates of the students. It makes it quite obvious that us students are not but a number to the staff; not but a pile of cash.



Thirdly, punishments are extremely lax. I have my own horror story of sorts: in my sixth grade year, a kid had thrown a pencil at me that hit me just above the eye. I appealed this to the two vice principals at lunch, and it took three days just to get to a conclusion. The punishment was that the kid had just gotten a day of lunch detention, even though what he had done was assault which is a punishable crime.



Furthermore, I have also been stabbed at this school. I had been attacked and stabbed by a student whose name nor ethnicity I shall say. Luckily, I did know his name, so I talked to the principal about this. He got no punishment, at all.



In conclusion, this school is horrible and I definitely do not recommend it. All I can say is that if you are considering sending your child to this school, just don't.

My two oldest children go to this school. The staff and administration do not care about your children they are just a number to them. They DO NOTHING TO STOP BULLYING. The Child that does the bulling doesn't get in trouble at all. The front office staff has no communication skills, it is very very stressful trying to talk to them over the phone. They have been very rude to me even when I just ask a simple question. Our youngest will NOT go to this school, I can not handle going through this school again. The Reason for two stars instead of one is because there are some teachers up there that have been good to my kids while they were in their class.
