My family of 5 were very comfortable with our spacious and clean room which by the way is walking distance to everything you want to do in DC as a tourist. Our "room" was actually 3 rooms connected. There were also 3 full bathrooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. If we visit the area again I wouldn't stay anywhere else! The Hotel Harrington has charm only a 100 year old establishment can offer.

Overall

The age of this hotel is apparent, in the size of the elevator, the tile in the bathroom, and the giant porcelain tub. I love the days gone by feel of historic buildings like this, and dont mind not having the latest, slickest amenities, with all that D.C. has to offer. I LOVED being a block from the hardrock cafe, and two blocks from the White House, a block from Metro center, and smack in the middle of some great shopping. The desk staff at Harrington, is Mayberry friendly, and more than willing to be of assistance

Overall

Built in 1917 -- I've stayed here several times. I like the older property, one block off Pennsylvania Ave. It reminds me of some of the older European hotels with smaller rooms, old bath fixtures, steam heat, modest, but comfortable rooms with flat screen TV, mini-fridge, microwave. Very good prices for DC. Friendly staff. Convenient. WiFi needs an update. It worked, but was a bit slow during peak morning and evening usage. I'll stay here again. Harry's Bar and Grill, connected, is a very good classic, modestly-priced restaurant.

Overall

I have no issue paying a reasonable price for a basic hotel which is well located. The Harrington fits the bill. Our room on the 9th floor was basic but was cojoined to the next. The kids slept in one room and M&D in the other. We had no problems with space with this set up. No issues with cleanliness, outside noise was nothing out of the ordinary in a major city, the bellhops were great and the adjoining Harry's was great to have a meal and beer. We walked to all the attractions. Many are very close. The parking is not on site but is only a few minutes walk away

The Harrington Hotel has a great location!!! It has a very friendly staff!!! The hotel is old and historic. It grew on me after a few days because of the staff and location -- but I was by myself. The hotel housed a lot of families and tourists so it was quiet every night. For the price is was a good fit

We had a fantastic time here. If you're looking for a luxury room, this is not for you. But for a basic room that is close to everything, you can't beat this place. Our room was much bigger than I expected and it was very clean. The location is perfect! The staff was so helpful (especially when our younger daughter got sick) and friendly. I stayed here 35 years ago...and I was happy to return as an adult. A great bargain for DC.

This hotel is located just one block from the White House. It is a 100 year old hotel so is a little tired but is perfectly clean and is very popular with american visitors. The breakfast room serves a lovely breakfast, and the diner is ideal for evening drinks.

Great location. Small rooms, clean but with few amenities. Good friendly service. We usually stay in Crystal City but wanted to be right in DC. We walked everywhere. Great price. Would stay there again.

My sister and I stayed here for four nights. We had a double room which was very comfy and at the back of the hotel. it was quiet, the drapes were heavy to block out light and the room was adequate enough for what we needed. There was a huge school trip happening and we didn't feel crowded as well which was good and the cleaning staff were friendly and efficient.

Ideally located close to shops and restaurants and the Mall so we were never stuck for something to do or somewhere to go and it was cheap and cheerful to stay plus free wifi. We would stay here again!

My husband and I had tickets to a performance at Warner Theater so we decided to stay at Hotel Harrington - a 3 minute walk. We were greeted by a very friendly staff and the room was very acceptable, bathroom was clean and bed comfortable. This is an old hotel but it does have character.

After we checked in and relaxed before the performance, we received a call that the performance was canceled. Bummer! So, we decided to go home because the weather was rainy and icy and we really couldn't do any exploring. We anticipated that we would not be getting a refund from the hotel because they do have their 24 hour refund policy. But, when we went to the front desk and told them our circumstances, no hesitation at all to not charge us. That is customer service. The next time we need a place to stay in Washington, we will be staying at Hotel Harrington.

LOCATION! We went to DC to explore, our hotel room was to sleep. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We were on the 10th floor. The price for the location for a family of 4, on a budget, was outstanding!
