Northern Illinois Funeral Services

We had a unexpected loss in our family. Me and my family live paycheck to paycheck. We don’t have a savings. While in shock of this unexpected loss, we also had to figure out, how to come up with, to us a large amount of money. We couldn’t even take the time to grieve, because me and my family were stressing out over this money. We went to several funeral homes, and their prices were as much as a used car. We thought about donating our family member to science because at least when we got them back, he would’ve been cremated for free while also helping the world.
The day before my family sat down to sign papers, a friend told me about this amazing funeral director out in Volo. We live in Lake in the Hills but we all agreed we would make the trip out there. We called and spoke to Cathy, who also happens to be the owner. We were lucky enough to be able to meet with her that day.
When we left, we felt that Cathy had lifted this weight off our chest. We could breath again, it was such a relief.
I’ve never met someone like her, she’s extremely special and has a gift. My family believes In earth angels and we believe Cathy Daniel is a earth angel!
My family will forever and always be grateful for you and all that you do.

Totally undignified service.....huge bodies producing LARGE flames and smoke, they stacks them in like cord wood....no respect for neighbors or the deceased....please spend a few extra dollars and run away from this

To read the negative review posted by someone makes me question whether we are talking about the same funeral service company. Northern Illinois Funeral Services was recommended to me by a friend when a family member passed away. The service I received was outstanding. The personal attention to detail, the caring of the staff, not just as professionals doing their job, but as human beings caring about the grief of another human being, was beyond exceptional. They cared about the dignity of the deceased person, but more importantly those of us left behind to deal with the grief. I recommend them to everyone I know who is looking for a caring, competent funeral home or cremation services. The location is clean, they pay attention to detail, give of themselves tirelessly to others (at all hours), and go the extra mile in every situation. They also donate their time and energy to families less fortunate.

I was reading a previous post that was not so nice, grief affects us all in different ways. I am a pastor and have had nothing but professional experience after experience with northern Illinois funeral service. I refer many families to this business. The crematory is in the back for what this person called "the garage" it is a sterile environment. I feel sorry that this persons grief and anger outweighed the love and time that should have been spent remembering their loved one. Northern Illinois funeral is one of the most compassionate and caring funeral service. They also do many hours of charity work for free for those who are less fortunate. I pray the previous persons grief will be healed.
