CONSUMER BEWARE; Contracted Mr. Shawn M. Jones owner of Concrete America to demo, clean up debris, of a 10x10 concrete patio and to form a new 12x15 patio. I hired him September 22, 2016, he came back the morning  of the 23rd at 10 a.m. with his so called assistant, started demo and twenty minute into the job he so called broke his sledge hammer while doing demo. He then asked for $750.00 over half due at the at the start of the job. He stated that he was going to go buy a new hammer and could kill two birds with one stone by, purchasing the rebar,order and pay for my concrete so it could be poured the next day. I was hesitant to pay him any money twenty minutes into the job so I had him sign for it. After receiving money in hand he and his assistant walked away laughing, saying they will be back by 4 p.m., to complete set up, I never seen either of them again. After two month of excuses from Mr. Jones, I grew tired and filed suit against him in Virginia Beach small claims court, "case pending," I also filed a complaint with the BBB. After further research, I found out he has been sewed repeatedly for the same scam, personally spoke to several of the plaintiffs and they all told the same story of his excuses and scam, they all stated he does not show up for court and has no remorse in not doing the work and making off with your money.
