The CDV virus is mainly transmitted through direct contact with an infected animal via bodily fluids such as saliva from coughs or sneezes. Inhalation is the most common way it enters a new dogs system. CDV attacks the respiratory system, gastrointestinal tract, and central nervous system.

Rocky Ridge Animal Clinic offers a premier boarding facility that is all indoors and climate controlled. Our feline guests have their own wing. We have both spacious cages and indoor runs in our kennel. We do not leash walk our guests. Instead, they are taken out to a fenced-in play area three times daily to exercise. We also offer One on one attention boarding, which entitles your pet to a human companion that interacts with your pet while in the play yard. We invite you to come by and tour our boarding facilities. You are guaranteed to be impressed. Animals must be current on the following vaccines: Distemper-Parvo and Leptospirosis, Kennel Cough (bi-annually), Rabies and intestinal parasite screen (bi-annually). If your pet has fleas upon arrival for boarding they will be given a product to kill the fleas.
Parvovirus Infection Treatment
The CPV virus is mainly transmitted through direct contact with an infected animal, or indirectly through contact with the stools of an infected dog which contain a heavy concentration of the virus. This contact can include inhalation as well as touch. The virus can also live in the ground for up to a year where it can be brought into contact with a dog by way of shoes.
