Summary:John McDonald represents businesses and individuals in all business, healthcare compliance, probate and estate planning matters, and represents Clients before state and federal administrative and regulatory agencies; civil and human rights commission; occupational or business licensing agencies; consumer protection agencies, and the various agencies which enforce labor and workers, rights. He represents his Clients before those agencies in their written inquiries, investigations, settlements and hearings brought to the healthcare laws administered by State Departments of Health and those agencies enforce those laws. He represents employers in labor related matters and in Administrative and Regulatory Law. After graduation from the Indiana University School of Law, Mr. McDonald worked for the Broadcast Bureau's Compliance Branch at the Federal Communications Commission in Washington, D.C. His private law practice has emphasized representation of businesses and individuals before State and Federal regulatory agencies ever since. Between 1976 and 1980, Mr. McDonald directed the investigative efforts of the Broadcast Bureau's investigation of payola and commercial bribery in the music, recording, and radio broadcasting industries in New York, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Newark, Philadelphia, Nashville and Los Angeles/Hollywood. He represents businesses and individuals before the many U.S. and State agencies in matters involving occupational licenses (for example, health care providers, insurance agents, realtors, etc.), in those matters where federal or state agencies investigate a business, commercial or occupational practices, and represents those industries in court in the event that the administrative investigation or hearing proceeds beyond the administrative agency level. John McDonald also has appeared in Washington courts where issues related to the Constitutionality of administrative agency regulation and release of Public Records under the Washington Public Records Disclosure Act have been challenged, and has represented employers before state and federal Human Rights Commissions where employment discrimination is alleged.
