Vaccination
Your horses’ health is our primary concern; therefore we recommend annual wellness exams. During the exam we will be more than happy to discuss your horse’s overall health, dental health, body condition score, feeding regiments, vaccination protocols and deworming programs. Rather than making blank recommendations we will be happy to discuss different options for each horse based on their breed, age, sex, management, lifestyle and occupation. We also have USDA accreditation which allows us to be able to perform Coggins testing (for Equine Infectious Anemia) and health certificates for interstate and international horse movement.
Nutritional Counseling
As the saying goes, a horse is only as good as what you feed it. A horse requires energy, protein, vitamins, minerals and salts. Most of these come from high quality roughage. In addition, all horses need unlimited access to a salt block. Many horses, especially performance horses, geriatrics, hard keepers, easy keepers and horses with medical conditions may need additional nutritional support.
Comprehensive Examination
Horses are living much longer and happier lives today, compared to 50, or even, 25 years ago. Why is this? Annual wellness exams and preventative medicine. There is no doubt that prevention of disease is favored over treatment of disease. Not only is it safer but it is also more cost effective.

Hip Dysplasia Treatment
Our lameness exam includes evaluating the walk, trot and canter on a hard surface and in a well-groomed arena, both in a straight line and circles. Flexion exams are done on each joint and hoof testers are applied.

Laboratory Services
We have in-house blood work equipment, including CBC and Chemisty machines, that allow for immediate evaluation of our patients systemic health. Our Abaxis HM5 CBC machine is very useful to evaluate the patients white and red blood cell count, hydration status and platelet levels. Our Abaxis Vetscan chemisty panel machine gives us information on the horse’s different internal systems including, liver, digestive, urinary, muscle and endocrine.
