General Info
Pinnacle Group is headquartered in Topeka, KS and provides services to homeowners, farmers, ranchers, commercial and industrial businesses, and municipalities across Northeast Kansas. We specialize in the use of polyurethane foam to raise and level cracked or settled concrete, and to provide a superior method of insulating homes and other buildings.
Services/Products
RAISING and LEVELING CONCRETE - The method we use is very similar to mud jacking, and often referred to as slab jacking. Either method is a very effective means of providing a low-cost, long term alternative solution to concrete replacement. Polyurethane Foam offers a number of characteristics that make it a superior choice to traditional mud jacking: First, it is a lightweight, expansive material. One cubic foot of cured polyurethane foam only weighs about two pounds, whereas a cubic foot of traditional mud jacking slurry weighs well over 100 pounds. Second, polyurethane foam will not shrink or deteriorate and is waterproof, whereas a traditional mud jacking slurry will shrink and crack and is susceptible to erosion. Third, it is FAST. Polyurethane foam sets up and cures so quickly that heavy vehicles can be driven on the treated area virtually immediately upon completion of the job, whereas traditional mud jacking takes two to three days to cure to the point that vehicles can be driven over the repaired concrete. Fourth, the finished product is barely noticeable. The Polyurethane Foam method requires the drilling of holes which are only about 5/8 of an inch in diameter, or slightly smaller than a dime. And because the foam is so expansive, fewer holes need to be drilled in order to fill the void and lift and level the concrete. At the completion of the job, the small holes are filled with grout to match the surrounding concrete as closely as possible. Traditional mud jacking requires the drilling of holes that are 1 5/8 inches in diameter, or nearly the size of the top of a soda can. Since, the mud jacking slurry is not an expansive material, more holes must also be drilled. SPRAY FOAM INSULATION or Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) - SPF is unquestionably the optimal method used in insulating buildings. While it does have a higher initial investment cost, the savings and benefits quickly outweigh the lower initial cost of using other less effective insulating materials. SPF insulation has the highest R-value per square inch of all commercially available insulating materials. And, since SPF is a spray product that expands, it fills all of the cracks and crevices to provide a complete seal that other alternatives can't match. SPF insulation offers many benefits: Dramatically reduces heating and cooling costs. HVAC equipment can be down-sized, thereby reducing construction costs. Eliminates air infiltration. Helps control moisture and condensation. Adds structural strength to the building making it more resistant to racking events and reducing damage from high winds, hurricanes, and tornadoes. Reduces noise from outside the building. Helps maintain a comfortable, constant temperature throughout the building. Helps improve indoor air quality. Helps conserve energy, reducing CO2 emissions. Contributes LEED credits for sustainable, green construction. Can provide an added barrier against water intrusion.
