Have you ever heard of a doctor donating a dollar to charity every time YOU come in for an appointment? Dr. Dairman does and is working to get other practices around the country to follow in his footsteps! 1Foot 2Foot donates $1 for every billable patient visit to select 501(c)(3) charitable organizations that are near and dear to our team. The more patients we see, the more money we donate. Patients are asked to choose a charity on our Goody2Shoes Donation Card at each visit designating where we will donate the dollar for their visit. Four local charities are selected by the 1Foot 2Foot Leadership Team at the beginning of each calendar year. Certain months are designated as single organization donation months and all dollars collected for billable patient visits during these months will be directed to that charity. As an example, the month of November is dedicated to honoring Bill Dairman (Dr. Dairman’s father) who lost his battle with prostate cancer – donations in November go to Zero the End of Prostate Cancer.

Bunion Surgery
Typically, bunion surgery is performed in an outpatient setting under sedation and takes about an hour. Most people can walk on the foot within 3 days with the use of a protective cast or shoe. The majority of our patients find themselves surprised to experience very little pain following surgery.

Often, bunions develop from faulty foot mechanics that we inherit. Yes, you can thank someone in your family tree for passing down the foot structure that results in a bunion. Bunions are the result of an instability in your foot that allows one muscle to gain an advantage over another, causing the big toe to drift towards the smaller toes. Because many women’s shoes are narrow and often pointed, this further aggravates the problem.
Neurosurgery
In certain cases, surgery may be required. Nerve surgery is very delicate and should only be undertaken when conservative treatments have failed. Plantar Fasciitis
