Blue Mountain Plumbing, Heating & Cooling

Blue Mountain did the plumbing and heating work for our bathroom remodel. Very happy with the work completed. Donna was great in scheduling the guys around our availability and our carpenter’s work. The Blue Mountain boiler and plumber workers were funny and pleasant. They helped us find a local electrician who was also very helpful.

Blue Mountain replaced our upstairs heat pump system and replace our tank water heater with a new tankless unit. They did a good job and picked up after themselves. I would recommend and will use them again.

We had a tech from Blue Mountain Plumbing, Heating, Cooling come out to evaluate two always-cold rooms in our home; he said our best solution was to go with base-board electric heating. This could be installed for about $600 X2, or they could order a state-of-the-art product, a set-it-down-and-plug-it-in model that might be perfect for us. We asked where it would come from; he said he did not even know who the supplier was or when it might arrive - hopefully within 2 weeks. We agreed to pay $294 total for this less costly alternative.
After 2 weeks, another tech delivered a cheaply-made baseboard heater which Home Depot sells for $76 and others ship for $66 . The install took 1 minute.
My wife and I decided to give BRPH&A a call to make it right - that they certainly they deserved to make a reasonable profit for ordering and delivering our product, but another $255 above the initial $69 service-consult seemed pretty steep. When we called, Shannon said she needed to verify what I described with her service tech. After the holiday she called me to say that they would keep the full $294 for our $66 heater. At no time did I lose my temper or raise my voice, but when I told Shannon I would be posting feedback as to our experience, she replied that this was "blackmail." When I tried, calmly, to say that customers post positive or negative feedback not as blackmail, but as consumer data, she said curtly "I don't have time for this!" and hung up without another word. My children saw my face, which must have seemed comically surprised, and said "Dad, did she hang up on you?" (They did kind of enjoy that part!) I will leave others to discern if the amount charged was a fair rate for services rendered - but I did find Shannon's behavior unprofessional and off-putting, to say the least. I do really wonder about the culture of a franchise that would behave this way. I also recommend Home Depot for plug-in baseboard heaters! Live and learn. - Dave R.
