Emergency Care
If you are not a current patient or if 72 hours will pass between suspected impregnation and wen you can visit our office, we suggest obtaining a prescription from an urgent care center. If it has been more than 72 hours since suspected impregnation, schedule an appointment to speak with one of our physicians about further options and possible pregnancy evaluation.
Colonoscopy
*FOBT as it is sometimes done in doctors’ offices, with the single stool sample collected on a fingertip during a digital rectal examination, is not an adequate substitute for the recommended at-home procedure of collecting two samples from three consecutive specimens. Toilet bowl FOBT tests also are not recommended. In comparison with guaiac-based tests for the detection of occult blood, immunochemical tests are more patient-friendly, and are likely to be equal or better in sensitivity and specificity.

We customize the visit to your needs and medical history, but the visit typically includes a pelvic exam with pap test and a breast exam. If you are over age 40, we will also perform a screening for colon cancer. Depending on your age, we will evaluate the need for mammography and bone density studies. We can also answer any questions you may have, including options for contraception or hormone therapy if appropriate.

Ultrasound
Since an ultrasound provides a view of internal organs and body structures, your doctor may request an exam to evaluate the general health of the organs in the pelvic region and to identifying the origin of pelvic pain.
MRI
Magnetic resonance imaging creates detailed images of the body using large magnets and a computer. For breast MRI, a woman will lie face down with her breasts positioned through holes in a table.
