I've tanned @ Hawaiian Sun since they opened in 1991 or 1992. I started when the tanning salon was World of Tans then became Hawaiian Sun. I have NEVER had any issues w/ rude employees, beds that were dirty, a salon that was dirty, felt lied to or pressured in any way to buy a tanning pkg or lotion. I have watched the girls clean the beds that I was going to use & I have watched them as they grabbed the bottle of cleaner & towel to clean the bed someone has just came out of. I have recommended this salon to many of my friends over the past 20 years all are still members. Both of my daughters are also members. I have not worked @ Hawaiian Sun or had any family members that are currently or formerly employed by Hawaiian Sun. I've personally never had any negative experiences & not one of my friends or family members have either. As far as "stealing" your money goes, I've never had any problems w/ them having my information to automatically take my payment to them. As for the lotions, I've NEVER seen their lotions for half the price on EBay & I have checked for them. I, as well as my family & the many friends who are still members, have never had any of the problems or complaints from some of these reviews. I would highly recommend Hawaiian Sun before any other tanning salon in Springfield. It's the best, cleanest & friendliest tanning salon I've been to.
This is a family owned business. Yes, the location is shady outside, but I know and trust the owners and staff. They are knowledgeable in tanning, many employees have been trained and to convention. The owners used to also own a tanning supply company and supplied nearly ALL the tanning bed companies in Springfield so they know what they are doing and they DO change their bulbs! The inside got a makeover a few years ago with fresh paint and new signs (inside not out). It is clean and well run. Don't judge this book by its cover - you'll be sorry. I have been known to drive across town (it is nowhere near where I live, but I lived near here in college) to tan here. The owner currently lives in Texas, but is a minister and runs an honest business. He comes in during the week as needed to take care of things and has "behind the scene" helpers who have been trained that handle them while he is away. Not everyone will have the same opinion, but please don't speak lies and trash small businesses - try it - it's clean and they DO CHANGE THEIR BULBS!
It is small and it does look a little shady from the street but it is a great tanning salon. The person who wrote that they are getting ready to go under doesn't realize that they have been in bussiness for a long time. The staff are mostly young but they are nice and they clean the beds well! It is small inside but it is very clean!! I recommend it to anyone and they change the bulbs very often so I always ask them if they have put in new bulbs since I was there last because I will burn if I stay in the whole time. I always get a good tan there and the staff is nice, the beds are clean and it is reasonable in price! It is sometimes busy and requires a small weight but most of the time you can get right in! If you want to get a nice tan from a good, clean salon-go to Paradise!! From the outside I probably never would have tried this tanning salon but a friend of mine went there so I decided to go with her and I am glad I did. Just keep an open mind and as soon as you walk in the doors you will be happy. It is a great place-try it!!!
I have been on the Tan Club for 2 years no and have NEVER had a problem!! If you would actually READ the aggreement that you sign when joining the Tan Club it CLEARLY states when to cancel and what you need to do. TRY READING WHAT YOU SIGN YOUR NAME TO!!!!!! During the 'economic crisis' while all the other salons in town are cutting back and closing down- Hawaiian Sun is still expanding with new locations and new beds! They have the BEST beds out of any other tanning salon I've been to and the friendliest employees who always know me by name. Their extremely professional and they know a lot about tanning! As for the 'dirty beds'- That's a bunch of crap! From my own experience, I've had to wait a few extra minutes to get in my bed b/c they were cleaning and had to let the cleaner sit on the beds a couple minutes! So, I would say you are probably just one of those pesky customers who complain about everything so you can get something free. I would recommend Hawaiian Sun to ANYONE and EVERYONE!!!
Hawaiian sun has by far been the best place I've ever tanned with. Beds are always clean, like no smudges on the top or anything. Everyone gives these poor girls such a bad rap for "stealing people's money" or "lying to them about membership". I witnessed one woman absolutely tear the associate to shreds over her membership fees. Like its her fault that you didn't read anything on the agreement you signed. The girls are always friendly and so knowledgable about the products and packages they sell. Forget all the negative comments these others are leaving, you guys have got it right!
I have been tanning at SB since last April. I tried other places trying to save money. The beds at other places were all so tiny comparitively, the salons were not nice, nor were the products impressive. I live in Willard and I drive all the way to Southbeach to tan because no other salon around here compares. The prices are a little higher bit you definitely get what you pay for! The staff isn't extremely knowledgeable in products or beds, but they know me and always anticipate my needs and wants! They are all so friendly so I feel I'm at MY salon when I go there!!
First time visit, very nice place. Greeted with a smile, I was using a coupon and was told to go for the best bed since it was free. I am from out of town, so chance for more than a visit or two was minimal, and still wasnt given anything but extremely courteous, friendly, and helpful attention. I want to just get some "Sun", and will go back while I am still here. I would recommend this place to anyone..
I am very happy with my tanning membership at The Tan Co. I have tanned in many local salons and I expect it to be CLEAN, I have not been disappointed. I get free child care while I tan, where else can I get that? The employees have taken the time to know me and I am greeted each time I go in. The price is right, it's clean and I get free child care. I vote thumbs up for this company.
I've been tanning at Hawaiian Sun for a couple years after having tried out some of the other salons in town. Hawaiian Sun has the most locations in the area and I can use my membership at any location I want. Which works out great with my busy schedule. I would definitely recommend Hawaiian Sun if you are looking for somewhere to tan in the Springfield area.
Helios Tanning Studio has taken place of Dark tanning salon. I was pleasantly surprised when renewing my tanning package here. The Velocity tanning bed works great & I never burn. They have affordable, custom spray tans & their spray tan tech is very thorough. I'm glad they revived their reputation at this location. I will be back.
