Ultimate Fish

We drive 100 miles round trip to shop at the Ultimate Fish store. They always have a great selection especially cichlids. And are very knowledgeable with over 38 years experience in the fish industry between the husband/wife owners and their employee. Time is spent with their customers, educating and answering questions. They are passionate fish lovers. We even received a call checking on the out come of a problem we were having not to mention the many calls made to them. Their prices are very fair and we will continue driving the distance for their great service and beautiful fish.

Some of the best seletion of Cichlids I have ever seen, freindly staff, very helpful. Most certainly be back.

Stay far away from Ultimate Fish!!! I have purchased fish here on two occasions. The first time, was about eight years ago. I purchased eight fish for my 55 gallon tank. My tank had been set up for two years and was illness free. After the first day, (I made my purchase on a Saturday) half the new fish were dead. After the second day, half my orignal fish were dead and all the new fish were dead. I went in and told the owner, and he told me I was out of luck. His policy was 24 hours. Just recently, I decided to try Ultimate fish again. My 95 gallon tank after one week of adding his fish has been distroyed!!!! I will NEVER make the mistake of shopping at Ultimate Fish again.

I didnt know anything about aquariums when I purchased a 26 gallon fish tank from ultimate fish. They were more interested in making a quick sale and didnt ask too many questions. I later found out that it is best to get the largest aquarium you can afford and have room for especially if you plan to have african cichlids. When I was ready to purchase fish they didnt want to sell me any, saying the were concerned about the cycling of my tank even after five weeks and my tank was fully cycled . The store is not well kept ,its cluttered and dirty. Would not recommend this store. Its a shame they have good cichlid selection.

I thought I had been to all the fish store when I moved to Houston but I've never seen such selection of fish anywhere else, they have fish that I've only seen in books and other store don't even know the names of, staff very nice and knowledgeable, very courteous even after the sale unlike some other store. Almost makes me want to redo all my tanks again. Even though it is far from me, I will definitly be back.
