Hillside Christian Academy & Preschool

My daughter who is now 5 went to a wonderful secular preschool. We were very happy with it. But once we were faced with the decision of putting her in to a public kindergarten we really wondered if that was the right course of action. We go to church every Sunday and we love God. We want our girl to be able to love God at school openly and pray there. We also were very attracted to the idea of small class sizes, which many private schools provide. When we discovered Hillside Christian Academy we found the right school for us. The senior pastor, Michael Coutts, who oversees the school is as nice a man as you would ever want to meet. He exudes joy, love and peace and obviously has a big heart for little people - like my girl! Their new principal, Shirley Gibson, has a long record of working in local schools and is very bright and personable. The school (and we) are lucky to have her.



If there's anything I'm not wild about it's that the weather can be on the cold side at times and that has everything to do with being in South San Francisco. Not much we can do about that.



Without going on and on I'll just say that I appreciate that they teach cursive in kindergarten (I didn't know they'd stopped teaching this in public school), am thankful that they lovingly deal with food allergies, and couldn't want for a nicer group of teachers and administrators. Thankfully for us our daughter loves it there, too. You can see from the pictures on the website that the kids are just plain happy there and that's because each child is treated like the special gift that they are. I highly recommend this school and look forward to my daughter continuing on there.
