Sierra Vascular and General Surgery Associates is a general surgery and vascular surgery practice, providing surgical care for patients of all ages except young children under the age of three. This practice is accepting new patients. General surgeons are medical specialists who consult patients and perform surgeries for a variety of conditions including many types of cancer, hernias, diverticulitis and soft tissue tumors. Vascular surgeons treat diseases affecting the arteries and veins such as aneurysms, ischemia and venous disease. The surgeons at Sierra Vascular and General Surgery Associates are committed to providing patients with the utmost comfort, efficiency, quality and privacy during surgery. Tuolumne and Calaveras County residents do not have to travel to large cities for advanced surgery and excellent care. Sheila Hodgson, MD, is board certified in both general surgery and colon and rectal surgery. She has a special interest in minimally invasive, laparoscopic procedures to treat colorectal conditions. Dr. Hodgson comes to Sonora with a wealth of experience ranging from her fellowship training at the University of Southern California to five years practicing at Kaiser Permanente in Modesto. Meredith McBride, MD, is a board-certified vascular surgeon providing patients with surgery and management for vascular disease. A few of the common conditions Dr. McBride treats include: peripheral arterial disease, carotid stenosis, abdominal aortic aneurysms, critical limb ischemia, renal artery stenosis, and mesenteric stenosis. Dr. McBride also provides a dialysis access clinic. Kimberlee Reed, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon with a special interest in surgical oncology (treating cancer patients with surgical procedures). She earned her medical degree from McGill University in Montreal and completed her seven-year surgery residency at UCLA in 2001. She then served as associate professor of surgery at UCLA from 2001 to 2007.
