Dr. James Edward Kaplar, PHD

I have been to dozens of mental health professionals through the years, and dr. Kaplar is by far the most unprofessional specialist I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. I recently read the report that he gave to me, and it was full of homophobic statements, specifically attacking my femininity as a gay man. Another attack was made on my interest in drag. I am so shocked and disgusted that a person in such a powerful position would hold such an ignorant view. Never once did I question his sexual orientation or his physical appearance, and all I got from him was negativity. The best part: the man talked to me for less than a half hour on one occasion before making these judgements. I have worked hard to overcome a lot of obstacles in my life, and for him to not validate that is completely and utterly offensive.
