Akron Children's Hospital Pediatrics

I made an appointment to see doctor Herscher on 10/29/07. I called a week in advance to schedule an appointment; I first verified whether or not my insurance was accepted at this office. I was placed on hold for 10 mins. When the gentleman returned to the phone he stated that my insurance was accepted; he would send me out the necessary forms that were required for my visit. I received the forms promptly (the next day). My appointment was set for 10/29/07 at 1:30 p.m. Due to this being a work day I had to schedule in advance time off work to accommadate my job. I left work a half hour early had to pick my child up from school (due to it was actually his appointment.) I arrived at the office 15 mins ealry. The staff did not acknowledge me when I first arrived due to they were having a pot luck in the office. I waited patiently for the receptionist to finish her casual conversation with the nurse and the other office members. Once the receptionist opened the front window she asked for my son's name and insurance card. After spending valuable waisted time in this office I was informed that they did not accept my insurance. I explained to the receptionist that I confirmed all the necessary information over the phone prior to making my appointment. The nurse or assistant also confirmed that I called in; however, I was refused serivce anyway. I never got a chance to meet the doctor; however, I will never return to this office or recommend anyone to him on the account of the poor service that I received from the office staff.
